The Easter Egg Hunt
I walked out of the house onto the ice-cold verandah. I gazed around eagerly, wondering how many eggs I would find in the hundreds of untidy plants. Before long my basket was burdened by four enticing eggs, but I was impatient to find more. I had slipped over when I was picking up my first eggs and the cold drops of water on my knee were irritating me no end. We continued the search, with my brother, my cousin and I looking behind plants, in ditches, and in trees.
After about half an hour we had filled two baskets with delicious eggs. We went inside, and I was glad of the heater blowing warm breaths of air onto my face, and I was amazed that we had found fifty-four eggs! A fruitful Easter!!
