When the King heard this news, he rushed back into his room and slammed the door. Milden was obviously stressed out. He could not leave all his loved ones and leave his kingdom to this uncouth creature. The window rushed open blowing everything in its?path away. The King grabbed his sword and tried to ram his way through the wind to the door. The roaring wind blew through his body and made him chill. Milden had never had such a terrifying event happen to him. Everywhere Milden went the wind rammed him into an object. Hurt, battered and bruised, the King finally reached the door he had so long wished to get to. And in one quick swift move the door swung open and the King was falling down the stairs. What had happened? The wind picked up behind his back and squeezed him into the wall where the stairs turned left.
The gust left nothing but evil behind. Guards rushed up the stairs to see Milden lying unconscious on the ground. They took him down to the infirmary and bandaged up all of his bruises. When the King awoke he sent for all the guards and warriors he had in his kingdom. The King was furious with this mysterious person who had tried to take over his kingdom. People hid under their beds and hired personal guards to protect them from this mystery person who tried to kill Milden.
This was the worst thing that had happened to the kingdom in centuries. When the king received enough troops to take on his enemy he did so. They marched into the rockiest part in the kingdom and prepared lines of assault. Most people thought this was crazy sending this many soldiers just for one person. But the King was smarter than he seemed. He knew when there was a trick being played on him. The mysterious person would want him to think that it was only he, so there wouldn’t be as many people for him to kill.
The army got into position and readied for assault. "All men, attention forward march," yelled one of the army officials. "Attack!’?whispered the King. Then another one of the army officials yelled, ‘’Attack!’?then the whole lot of them started charging at the very tallest of mountains. Then, out from the back of the cave a huge monster appeared. It was twenty metres tall and was covered in hair. It stood up like a gorilla and lashed out at the soldiers like a savage cannibal. It’s teeth poked out like a severe case of broken bones. Then out from the back of a cave another creature came out and another and another until you couldn’t see the sky. The humans were severely attacked!
The soldiers were dying and Milden was running out of resources. Even he tried to kill or at least wound the monsters. But all that happened was unstoppable! They were either thrown away or eaten. But when the King came to attack they grabbed hold of him and threw him up in the air like a hot potato. Until at last all but twenty soldiers had died the monsters started cheering and jumping up and down. They grabbed the remaining soldiers and threw them into a small dungeon along with the King. The party went on well into the night and they drank large amounts of alcohol. Many of the dead humans had been squashed and there was nothing but a see of blood where the battle had taken place.
After many days the hostages eventually received a scrap of food. They started to fight over it like cubs when a kill has been made. Then, all of a sudden the fight for the food was broken and a huge gust of wind whirled around in the dungeon. It was like what had happened to the king in his palace. Then, after all that the King had vanished and the food had gone.
Milden woke up with a loud noise around him. Then he suddenly realised where on earth he was. He was in an open cave and all the monsters were around him, then from one corner, the largest monster in the cave came towards him. ‘’Shall we kill him or let him live? This man tried to disturb my life and now I shall disturb his. Kill or live?’?Yelled the monster. Then a chant went round the cave, "Kill, kill, kill, kill!’?then all was silent and the monster started talking again. ‘’I have decided that we shall kill him, but,’?his talking was blocked out by crazy cheers. All the monsters ran to the King and started fighting each other. Then the monster yelled out, ‘’Stop fighting, before you interrupted me earlier on, I was about to say we won’t kill him right now because there is useful information he can give to us before he dies. That is of course, if you want to take over this kingdom and even further on this world!
Milden tried running but it was useless. The Monsters would just put their hands in front of him and block him. The head monster picked up the King and started squeezing him. The King squealed and was thrown back into the dungeon almost dead. Then all the soldiers pounced on Milden and started punching him as though he was their enemy. They stopped hurting him after a while and Milden finally got to his censes. He then strait away yelled at them to stop fighting and started to tell them something that gathered everyone’s attention. ‘’We don’t have to fight and behave like animals to do stuff. We need to behave properly and try and find a way to escape. If we keep a record of what goes on and start digging away we might have a chance of escaping and going back to all our loved ones!’?/p>
At this news everyone started behaving. They got into little groups and started taking records of what went on outside the dungeon. They recorded their information on the dungeon’s walls with broken off bits of stones. After they had gathered enough information to escape they started building weapons for creatures in the dark. After a long weeks work they had enough information and tools to escape. They were almost about to get through the last wall and step into freedom when all of a sudden the whole lot of them were blown back into their dungeon in an enormous rage. Everyone had been knocked unconscious.
A giant hand reached into the dungeon and pulled Milden out. Then a large voice spoke, "You can’t escape me. I knew what you were doing all along. I know where you are and I always will be able to cense where you are!’?at this comment by the monster the King was completely confused. He had never heard anything more ridiculous in his life. Milden astounded, nodded his head and started walking up and down a bit of the cave that was poking out. Then some other monsters came and broke off the piece of cave, which Milden had been walking on. Milden went tumbling down and all the monsters started laughing at him. This playing went on for quite a while until all the other soldiers had been brought out.
Then the big monster spoke, "I wasn’t going to do this with you but seeming as though you tried to escape from me you’re going to be my personal slaves.’?The men were carted away, outside the cave and into the freezing cold ice. The mist blocked any view to other places. It was colder than before and you could smell evil in the air. All the men got a feeling that there was a spell over their land killing all beautiful things.
In the men’s past they had been known to be excellent builders. So they were forced to build a cave which was twice the height of the tallest monster and could fit all the monsters in the kingdom inside. And the worst part was they had to finish in ten days or else they got their heads chopped off!
This was an excellent time to escape if they had to. Except there was only one problem. When? The men worked all night and all day with no breaks and no food to eat. For the whole of the next day they worked and only received a scrap of food each. That night they pretended they were sleeping but they actually got together and started planning their escape. Knowing what had happened last time they used sign language. This way hopefully the monsters would not know what they were meaning. All the soldiers woke up the next morning with a sign of hope. They were going to escape this time!
So, the men started the day with positive working and worked very hard. By this stage they had dug up and layered out the first metre all the way round the ‘ice cave? When it was the monster’s lunchtime Milden and two others snuck into where the monsters ate and crept through cracks past the guards to where the drinks were set out. They poured in the small proportion of sleeping drink and ran to where the other soldiers stood. Then, all the men ran as fast as they could from the cave towards where they had lived such a long time ago. All the monsters had awoken by now and were furiously chasing after the soldiers who had escaped.
The men had had a great head start on the monsters yet they still caught up quickly. The soldiers eventually got to a forest, which was an excellent place to hide from the monsters. But they couldn’t wait too long because the monsters would just surround the forest so they were unable get out. So the men started walking until they reached a clearing in the forest. A stream ran down through the forest where they were sitting so all the men started drinking the water. The falling trees rudely interrupted their short drink. It was the monsters! The men started running for their lives like they’d done before.
There was only one very slight thing that was in the people’s favour. If they could quickly dig a tunnel under ground the monsters wouldn’t be able to reach them. But there was no hope now that the monsters were so close they could reach the men. The soldiers were out of the forest now and the monsters were close behind but then they stopped, and the soldiers ran as far away as they could.
When the soldiers eventually got back to their homes they received a shock. It was completely empty! Plus, all the buildings had been blown over. The men walked round in a mad panic trying to look for their wives and loved ones, but they weren’t there! They had vanished! What would happen next?
