Hi everyone,
Thought this might be a good idea for members and visitors to let the younger writers know what you think of their work. If you read something here in KidsPicks that you like, post a note to one of the authors and let them know that you appreciate the effort that they have made. Each of the stories and poems here was written by children between the ages of 8 - 12. Personally, I think that each of them has done an amazing job - but, as their teacher at one time or another - I am most unashamedly biased. Please enjoy the work of students posted here.

Isn't it amazing that words can have the power to take your breath away sometimes. They are spoken so frequently in our normal every day passage...they are used and abused all the time....but...then someone comes along and is able to display his ability to hold the reader transfixed till the end of the story like this. A brilliant story for an adult..short and concise, let alone a 10 year old. 'I dips me lid' to Walter and wonder at his power to 'take my breath away'.
