I thought some of you may be interested in doing something like this! It is to get leads for the Wedding Registry! Lots of income potentional without a lot of hard work!1 I have gotten together a few consultant in my cluster to go in with me on joining David's Bridal Vendor Program. It is $200 a month with a 12-month contract. You may want to try to do the same in your city! Here is the info on what you get for your $200 a month and how we are dividing the payments and leads. Our store here in Lafayette, LA averages 344 leads a month!! Below is a table to show what we will pay with the determined number of people participating and the ></SCRIPT> average leads that we will receive each month. Number of Participants | Cost including fee for Flyers | Average Leads/month | 5 | ></SCRIPT> $45.00 | 60 | 6 | $39.00 | 50 | 7 | ></SCRIPT> $34.00 | 42 | The store in Lafayette averaged 344 leads last year. The month of Feb 2005, they had 491 leads. Included in the monthly price: v Display of promotional literature (prize drawings, 10% off order, whatever you decide) in store year round v They will distribute our Wedding Registry Flyer to all Brides v We will receive each persons contact info (name, address, phone and email (if provided) including Internet Leads into the Lafayette location v Ability to set up booth in-store during promotional sales (ex: $99.00 sale) > |

Wouldn't it be easier if everyone jst had their own months? All you'd need to do is change the fliers. Or would David's be against that? You could just divide the total by the # of consultants and each person would be responsible for that amount of payment. I think this would lead to much less conncern over who was taking, Giving more leads. Daphne |

Sounds good on paper but from talking to the Davids reps, there are MANY more leads in Jan- March than other months - so not sure about the advisability of splitting leads that way - may make sense to work the payments that way though..... I am splitting with my director and we are going 50/50 on expenses for payments and on leads each month - if either of us want to share our payments and share our leads in any month we can with others in our cluster - we agreed on that. I am excited about it! Will let you know how it pans out. Laura |

Hi Everyone! I have a question... my director has decided to sign our cluster up for the vendor program in our area, and we have the contract, but are wondering who to list for the licensee. Our contact listed it as The Pampered Chef but we don't think that is right. She listed our names as "DBA The Pampered Chef" and we don't think that is right either. Can someone please advise us as to what is the correct way to put everything, to stay "legal" :) Thanks in advance! Tarra Parks |

I just talked to my director about how they are planning on running their David's program and here is what she told me. There are 3 of them that have split the monthly fee of $275 a month. They were told by David's that many vendors end up NOT putting out flyers in the goodie bags because they end up tossed in the parking lot, dressing room and garbage. They have gotten the most success from the info that David's sends them from the brides that register. With that being said, the 3 people in my cluster are splitting the leads in thirds (makes sense). Then each of those 3 people will decide if they want to keep them all for themselves or "sell" them to their downline. The store they will be in has an average of 500 brides a month, and in January they had 900 brides register. My director hasn't decided on the prices for leads, but it will be a month by month thing, or you can tell her how many months you want ahead of time, she's doing it on a first come, first served basis, and obviously keeping some leads for herself. For me, it will depend on how much she is charging for the leads. Since I know all the numbers from David's, I will definitely be making sure it's a fair amount to ask. Anyhow, can't wait to hear how everyone is doing with this! |

Just another note of legality, the RFS says that you are not permitted to buy contact lists for email spamming, so just to be safe don't have your initial contact with these people be by email.
And hopefully too, no one will get in trouble with the do not call list thing.....don't forget that these people aren't necessarily aware that when they give David's their information that David's is going to turn around and sell it to other vendors and some people might be....how should I say it.....not so friendly. :-) |

Has anyone, who is participating in this program, seen any positive results from it? Just wondering! Just got my first set of leads and wonder what to expect! Michelle |

I bought into the leads through my director for March and got about 25 leads. I sent emails to about 15 yesterday (they are the only ones that listed emails). I got a response back today (I was excited), until I read it. The person on the list is NOT getting married, her brother is, she had gone in for a bridesmaid dress. SO.....while your store may have hundreds of "brides" that register each month, just keep in mind that they are not all brides. If someone goes to buy a prom dress, bridesmaid dress, maybe even a pageant dress, they have to register. I just wish there was some way to discern what the actual EVENT is that they are registering for. My director called one of her leads and ended up talking to the girl's mother who was confused why she (my director) was calling. The girl had gone to David's for her "Sweet 15" dress! I am going to change the email that I'll be sending to include something about PC in general if you didn't register for YOUR wedding and to please pass this on to the bride/groom if you are IN a wedding party. I'd love to hear how everyone else is making out! |

Well, let's see. I have had three sets of leads which almost comes to 100. I have emailed those with email addresses and got no responses with the exception of the 6 who emailed to remove them from my list. I mailed to those who didn't have an email and to those who I had previously emailed. I also spent 8 hours, 3 weeks ago working the $99 sale and have nothing to show for that except for a bruised ego for most of the women looking at me like some sort of leach. All I can hope for is that when they are ready, SOMEONE has my information and uses it to enter their registry. Time will tell I suppose. Michelle |

Sorry to hear that Michelle. Hopefully one of us will have great success with this program!! As for the table at the $99 sale -- the manager at our David's actually told my director that the brides are in such a frenzy to get their dress, they won't pay much attention to the tables and it could be a big waste of our time and money. So, our group decided to just go with the lead list. I had looked into the program myself, and now I'm glad I didn't put up a lot of money and a year contract. I know I've only contacted a few people, but I'm thinking I like my position of being able to buy into the leads any month I choose, but I'm not committed to it for a year. Plus, it's a big committment to follow up on all the leads! Good luck everyone! |

Is anyone having any success with this?? If so, what are you saying or offering to brides? I have been working with the store in my area along with 3 other directors since March and between the four of us have only set up 2 registries. Am wondering if these results are normal or are we doing something wrong? |

I have been very disappointed in the response to the PC registry. I think it's just too new and people don't know what it is all about. Especially for younger brides who aren't even familiar with PC, they just don't want to do it. They'd rather go to a regular store with the infamous scanner and do it themselves. |

I have been doing the leads since February. I am pretty much the only one out of group that is actually sending things out to the leads and following up. I have only received 2 registries and 1 shower. I too think that they it is too new and the younger brides just aren't interested! |

I have been doing David's Bridal with a group of about 6 consultants. My director is the point person. We just started April 1, so we still don't have a good feel for it yet. However, my director set up a board for any PC consultants working with David's Bridal. The website is http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/PC_DAVIDSBRIDAL/ We have consultants from various parts of the country sharing ideas for how to make this a good opportunity. Teresa G. |
