Black Tuesday: America’s Descent into the U.S. of I.

As I write these words, Senator Barack Obama is poised to be elected as our next President of the United States and, because I am a civilized person, I wish to extend my congratulations to him. This does not mean that I have to like him as a person nor does it mean that I have to accept his beliefs and policies. I believe they will do great harm to the United States, our economy, our world standing, and the freedoms and liberties that millions of my fellow countrymen have served and died for. Therefore, this article is not about Senator (apparently now President-Elect) Barack Hussein Obama. He wanted to become president, did everything humanly (if not ethically) possible to accomplish this goal, and therefore achieved his fundamental goal. No, this article is about a significant portion of his followers who are going to face an equally significant period of “political detox?in the coming months.
One of the sayings that I always told Sara, my late wife, was that “a marriage begins when the honeymoon ends? By this, I mean, that she always told me that her previous marriage was a “twelve-year honeymoon?until one day her ex found someone to play around with while Sara suffered from cancer the first time and could no longer have children. I made my remark because, I believe, a marriage is not all about excitement and newness, but about struggle and achievement. I could not offer many promises to her, but I kept the one that I always made: to always be for her. I never left her, no matter how hard it was watching her slowly succumb to a deadly disease.
So, my simple advice to the Obama supporters; enjoy your “honeymoon?now (without resorting to criminal activity, please) for soon you shall experience the realities of your new marriage. Many of you are quite young and this election marks your first time ever making such a critical decision. Beware of the future! When I was in high school, I represented one of the few students who openly supported (gulp!) Jimmy Carter. I could not vote, obviously, but vocal support is still as challenging as private selection. Ronald Reagan served as my command-in-chief while I served within the United States Navy, but I did not vote for the man either. As a young adult, I just did not feel comfortable with his policies (which seem an affront to my heritage).
I was fully twenty-nine years old when I finally broke with the Democratic Party, largely because I saw the Party for what it was, a liberal manifestation of Big Government and Pro-Death. The moral of the story is that it took me at least ten years to frame my own opinion on matters of the world. Oh, yes, I know what you think. That you are more “enlightened?than I was (or perhaps am) and that you are better educated, more twenty-first-century, more visionary than I could ever be. Hogwash. I’d seen more foreign countries than most of you have (lived, traveled, makes no difference), had a great background in the natural and historical sciences, and spent a lifetime helping out and caring for others. I was still young and mature.
This maturation process will happen to you as it does with nearly everyone else. The hippies from the 1960’s morphed into Reaganites of the 1980’s. When I was 30, I could not believe how foolish that I was at 20 and at 40 I could not believe how foolish I was at 30. That’s life and it will happen to you. I can, quite honestly, offer an accurate picture of what you are likely to face within the coming months.
First, your taxes will increase significantly. You see, Economics 101 states that the rich don’t pay any less taxes than you do but once theirs is raised, they add the extra burden onto you. Taken another way, I am almost willing to bet that most of you shop at Wal-Mart. Well, if Wal-Mart is unionized, you will pay more for milk, stereos, and underwear. Your employment opportunities will cease as well for already Canada is negotiating with Europe to send their business overseas. Of course, Canada will now also sell its oil to China.
On the home front, more people paid not to work (e.g., the “Spreading of wealth? will suck more out of your pay. You do realize, of course, that you will never be able to pay for your student loans on anything less than $150,000 per year, right? Well, that places you into Obama’s ?%?wealthy plateau. Guess what, though. The average entry level income for someone with a bachelor’s degree and no experience (had you any, then you probably wouldn’t have voted for Obama in the first place) is about $60,000 per year. Good luck paying your bills.
Yes, America took a sad turn today ?a throwback worse than in 1992 when we elected a President who, despite being an accomplished attorney, lied to the American people while under oath. So, with the territory, please feel free to gloat, laugh, and ridicule me for having chosen the wrong candidate. I am strong and I will survive. I wonder about you, however. Myself, I remain true to both my words and my beliefs. And, despite what you may think, I formulate my own ideas. I do not represent some “right wing conspiracy? I simply do not listen to anybody without challenge.
I actually feel sorry for all of you. I feel terribly sorry, for example, for the 49% of white Catholics in Pennsylvania that voted Obama’s way. If you think that eight years under a President Bush is bad, just try eternity in hell. But I digress?/P>
No mere president of the United States is going to sway me from those things that I hold dear. I will triumph, and in twenty years, Barack Obama will simply be a footnote in the annals of history. The first black president of the United States. That will be his legacy. Let us pray that a major conflagration, as his own running mate suggested, is not within the cards. Of course, I did pray that McCain would win so I suppose that God lets us answer for our own sins.
Our nation may have forced Israel’s hand in attacking Iran. For that, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies to the Jewish people. Always know that if I have to choose between the Muslim world and the State of Israel, I will always cast my lot with the Jewish people. I do not have anything personal against Muslims, mind you, but as a member of the Judeo-Christian lineage, outsiders have to go through some pretty inspiring actions for me to offset my disgust for the relative few who seem hell-bent on destroying this world in the name of Allah. Simply put, if you want my respect, earn it. It doesn’t come cheap.
There are other concerns I have regarding the future for which no Obama supporter could deny. At this moment with about half of the votes coming in, Michigan seems prepared to cast its own lot with stem cell research (which was highly unpopular) and medicinal marijuana. Just more examples of a society in decay. On the stem cell issue alone, millions of poor Michigan taxpayers will dish out billions more in taxes to finance something that we don’t really need. This is scary, because it represents a total collapse into something quite evil and sinister.
Today, millions of Americans have abandoned their country in favor of selfishness. This was epitomized by Peggy the Moocher or whatever the hell that she was called. Her cries of “I no longer have to work because Obama is going to be our president!?showcases how he managed to buy his way into our most prestigious home while the rest of us have to earn our keep. Barack Obama promised that he will take money from those who earned it and dole it out to those who didn’t. Guess what? Say goodbye to your jobs and hello to higher taxes.
Myself, I do not care as much as it would seem. I can make money anywhere. I can live on the beaches of Tahiti or in the chalets of Switzerland. No, I’m not wealthy. My wealth resides within the talent that God gave me and since I voted with conscience I have no fears that He will abandoned me. Now, as to my analytical pursuits. Well, I forewarned America as best I could. Time to pay the piper. September 11th, 2001 is going to be as lost in history as is the 1995 Oklahoma City Bombing.
God have mercy on us all. Oh, wait. My prayers to prevent all of this didn’t seem to work. In that case, it’s every man and woman for themselves. I’ll send you a postcard?
