THE MOCKINGBIRD

PEOPLE U/M: Lyle  // Challenger, Flip, Jacobs, Corfield, Fairservice
HPW RECORD:
03/01/00
OOC: Yeah, first roleplay and possibly my last. You never really know if you can get another up with the schedule I have at the current moment. I ended this one sort of suddenly, which I normally don't do. But I have incredibly tiresome and should probably get to bed if I don't want to be extremely tired for school tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get another one up, but if I don't, then I will be enjoying sleep.

It's been quite some while, hasn't it?

Almost seven monthes to the date that I have stepped into the squared circle, and done what I've wanted to do my whole life. It's been awhile since I felt that feeling of accomplishment stepping out of the ring, knowing that you gave the fans what they came to see. It's the best feeling in the entire world, and I'm ready to feel that once again. It's been so long since I've done this, I almost feel as if I have forgotten it. It's a bit bizaire when you think of it. I've been away so long, from something that was like a second nature to me, that I feel a bit rusty. Almost as if I'm a rookie, steeping between the ropes for the first time. Well, that's what I'm doing, aren't I? I'm a rookie here, and at 2007 Wayz To Die, I will be stepping through the ropes of BUD into a whole new era of my life. Let's just hope it doesn't end like the last one.

Down in Mississippi, during the winter, you can definitely say that it's a bit cold. Definitely different from the weather in sunny San Diego, where I had been hiding out for about seven monthes. The day was supposed to be like no other, and that's what I expected it to be. I've been after the THC Championship since I got here, so I was definitely going to enter the tournament. On top of that option, I was also scheduled in a match against the "returning" Evan Pierce. I've seen this guy around, and to be honest, I know that he is no joke, and nothing to mess around with. All in all, I have a wonderful pay-per-view ahead of me, and there was nothing I had been doing all week but training. That morning, I woke up to a most delightful burning in my arms and legs. Apparently, I had forgotten to stretch after my little workout last night, and it was catching up to me.

Hoping out of bed, I did what any other man would do, I went straight for the bathroom. My next thought was to get something to wake me up. I had fallen asleep in my clothes anyway, so there was no need to change right away. Aww. A cup of coffee, breakfast of champions, well, not yet anyway. I suddenly had the urge to know what the hell was going on in the world today, and to see if they had mentioned my name in the paper by any chance. Opening the front door, I got more than just the paper, but a kid was standing on my doorstep. Somewhere between seventeen and ninteen was my first guess

Opening the front door, I got more than just the paper, but a kid was standing on my doorstep. Somewhere between seventeen and ninteen was my first guess, and my opinion stayed true. At first I just looked at him, wondering what the hell he was doing. He wore some ripped jeans, a sweatshirt, and his hands were in his pockets as if he was nervous about something, which was lost to my knowledge. I looked at him with his a questioned face, and he seemed to respond to it.

ABRAM: "Umm...you're Zarek Lyle, aren't you?"

Wow, what a question. I could tell the kid had brains, obviously, but as to why he was here, is the answer I was searching for and didn't recieve it. At first, I wondered how to respond. Some good ol' sarcasm came to mind, but I figured I'd keep it cool, as to not scare him off. Now I was burning to know why he was here.

ZAREK: "Yes I am, is there a reason why you are standing outside my door at six in the morning?"

Truth be told it was probably about seven thirty, but over exaggerating is my specialty.

ABRAM: "Well, yes, my name is Abram McCallister, and I am one of your biggest fans. I've supported you all the way through your career"

Hmmm...I'm beginning to like this kid already, but something told me he still isn't getting down to the point on this one. A smile came across my face, I couldn't help but think smile at the fact that there are still people out there that could be watching old HPW videos.

ZAREK: "Thanks Abram, and if that's all, I have a pay-per-view coming up, so I should really get back to some training"

Slowly, I reached for the door, knowing that this wasn't the only thing he planned on saying. He made a step forward, as if he was going to say something else. Just about a minute with this kid, and I already knew his ways. Wow, I'm good. He reached up and stopped the door from closing, which sort of surprised me, but I was still interested in hearing whatever it is that he had to say.

ABRAM: "I know, and that's why I came"

Obviously the kid had the same talents that I did, and with just about a minute with me, he already knew my ways. In saying this, he obviously caught my attention, and I was dying to hear his followup to such a bomb as this one. Either this kid really has something to say to me, or he is a complete psycho, which either would be okay with me.

ZAREK: "Alright, you've got my attention, go on"

His nerves were slowly disappearing but they still controlled him. It took him a second to get started, but he did it after a while.

ABRAM: "Okay, well, I understand you have a match coming up at 2007 Wayz 2 Die against Evan Pierce."

ZAREK: "True"

ABRAM: "Well let me just start off by saying that I've watched some tapes, and Evan Pierce is in no way, shape, or form an easy opponent"

Was this his exciting news? Please don't let this lame piece of advice be this exciting news that I had been waiting for. Although I wasn't all to familiar with the ways of Mr. Pierce, I knew that he was no easy foe, and I was going to be ready for him.

ZAREK: "I know that kid, what else you got?"

ABRAM: "Well, you're planning on entering the THC Championship tournament thingy as well, correct?"

CHAPTER ONE: 'THE MOCKINGBIRD'

PEOPLE U/M: Zarek Lyle, Abram McCallister  // Evan Pierce
BUD RECORD:
00/00/00
OOC: Just to let management know, I'm entering the THC free-for-all. Yeah, this turned out longer than I expected, but pretty fun to write nonetheless.

It's been quite some while, hasn't it?

Almost seven monthes to the date that I have stepped into the squared circle, and done what I've wanted to do my whole life. Was this his exciting news? Please don't let this lame piece of advice be this exciting news that I had been waiting for. Although I wasn't all to familiar with the ways of Mr. Pierce, I knew that he was no easy foe, and I was going to be ready for him.

"I know that kid, what else you got?"

"Well, you're planning on entering the THC Championship tournament thingy as well, correct?"

This was beginning to get a little freaky. This kid was becoming to good at my own tricks of predicting people, and it was a bit terrifying. Either this kid can really predict what I am going to do, or he is a complete stalker. With all these thoughts running through my head, I got a carried away with myself. A seventeen year old kid, a stalker? Naw, couldn't be. Well, maybe the stalker of a seventeen year old girl, but I was nothing close to a seventeen year old girl. So the stalker option couldn't be true...could it?

"How do you know this, kid?"

He ignored the question and continued on with whatever he was going on with. Apparently, he was also getting ahead of himself, and was only looking for a one word answer from myself, in order to have him continue. I almost stopped him from the upcoming speech that I felt coming on, but there's a part of me that actually wants to hear whatever it is that he has to say.

"Honestly Zarek, I am a big fan of yours, the biggest, but being even more honest, I think you are putting a lot on your plate, that I don't believe you can eat. Putting yourself into two matches at this up and coming pay-per-view, one with a returning veteran of BUD and the other in a battle royal for a championship, is not a wise move on your part. Don't get me wrong, everyone knows that you've got tons of soul, and tons of skill, but everyone also knows that there are tons of bigger guys out there, that could knock you on your ass."

I was a bit taken aback, no screw that, I was a lot taken aback. My moods had changed so suddenly, I felt like I was having mood swings galore. Damn, is this what women feel like? Anyway, the very beginning of this whole speech started out pretty good, but slowly descended into somewhat insulting. What the hell was this kid trying to prove by coming her and insulting me? Nothing good I hope. Now, I wasn't about to beat up on some kid, so I attempted to calm myself down. I suppose Abram saw my change of mood, cause he immediatley responded with trying to calm me.

"Don't get me wrong, you are my favorite wrestler of all time."

This kid was confusing me. First he admires me, then insults me, then admires me again, and I was beginning to get a little impatient.

"So what are you suggesting?"

A smile slide across his face.

"You need me"

"Ha. What in the world are you talking about kid?"

Well, that was a good laugh. I have to admit, this roller coaster was well worth the end result. I must thank whoever sent this kid up here personally, because I definitely needed a good laugh with all this stress about me.

"Wait, wait, I can help you. I am a huge wrestling fan, and I know these guys inside and out, as well as you. Believe me, I can help"

This was becoming quite interesting, I do have to admit. A part of me just wanted to end this, the punch line had been given, and now it was just milking the joke, but you can't milk a cow that's out of milk. Alas, I did need more entertainment in my life though.

"Okay, let's say I agreed to let you help me. How would we go about doing that?"

"I could manage you"

Ha, nope I was proven wrong, this cow still has some milk left in her. This day was going to be a good day. Starting it off like this, had to mean something good was going to happen. I started to shut the door again, when as he did before, he pushed it back open.

"Come on, just let me hang around. I'll be your assisstant, get you things or something?"

In all seriousness now, maybe this kid had a point. If he knew as much about these superstars as he lead on that he did, he could actually help me. As well as the fact that I kind of liked the kid, he certainly cracked me up when I needed a good laugh. I must be insane, but I actually thought it over. With a sigh, and seeing nothing in it for me to lose, I lowered the boom.

"Alright, I suppose you could hang around"

I turned around and let the kid in. Out of the corner of my eye, Abram was estatic in my decision and I saw him do the little arm thing and say "Yes". He walked into the room and was in total amazement, not because the room was big, because it sure as hell wasn't, but because I had actually agreed to let him stay. Meh, I kind of made me feel better about myself as well. Like I had given to charity or something, although this was nothing like giving charity.

"First things first, tell me everything you know about Evan Pierce"

He knoded with a reluctant smile upon his face, as though he had completed some life goal. He took off his sweatshirt, and swung it over the chair that he sat down in. As he took of his jacket, he revealed something that resembled wrestling tape, that just so happened to be in all of the spots where I normally put mine during my matches. A little wierd, I suppose, but I wasn't about to make a scene out of it. They say that mockery is the biggest form of flattery anyway...or something like that.
