FINAL CHAPTER: 'CONTRACTS'

PEOPLE U/M: Zarek Lyle, Abram McCallister // Evan Pierce, Corey Vega
BUD RECORD:
00/00/00
METHODS OF MADNESS: I'm trying some new things. For one, I thought it would be fun to do this roleplay from Abram's point-of-view, and for two, I've decided to try this sort of writting, just for this once.

Time moves slowly when you are waiting for a specific event. It's been but a couple hours since the lunch between Abram McCallister and Zarek Lyle, the last promo we've seen from the triple threat match, but it seems like days. Only what, about three hours or so left until the opening match of 2007 Wayz 2 Die? It seems like it's been so long, leading up to this one day, this one event. It's almost upon us, and it feels great.

"Do you need me to help you with anything Zarek?" The time until the show was drawing near and Abram was beginng to get restless, "anything at all?"

Zarek was also getting restless, but he knew how to keep it under control. With but a few hours to go, it seemed like the time was moving slower and slower, as if the hands had stopped. With such anxiety rushing through, he knew better than to lose his cool moments before a match. Although Zarek appears to be a rookie, he is nothing of the sort, not by a long shot. He's been in these situations before, and he wasn't going to cost himself this victory by going berzerk.

Zarek continued lifting as he spoke, "No, that's okay Abram, I'm okay right now."

Even though these past few days, he appeared to be an excited noob, he wasn't going into the mood now. It was almost as if he was a new person, changed, for the better or for the worse, Abram couldn't tell. For the last week, Abram had been by Zarek's side the whole way, and now, with Zarek sort of brushing him off, he felt a little left out. Abram, being determined to help with something, decided to push a little more.

Walking over to where Zarek is lifting, "I could spot you or something."

Zarek flipped open to a certain person and picked them out, "Aha, Evan Pierce", he said aloud as soon as he found who he was looking for.

Looking over Evan's file, he didn't seem so tough to Abram. Don't get me wrong, Abram still didn't believe he was ready to take on anyone remotely close to Evan, in the ring, but he didn't look so tough compaired to Zarek. True, they were both different, a lot different from each other, but they are on the same playing field. What makes Evan so different from Zarek, or what makes Zarek so different from Zarek? Well, a lot of things, but talent wise, nothing really.

Still flipping through the file, "Evan Pierce, you seemed to have been busy back in OCW, what happened to you? Got caught up with yourself? I don't think you're really as tough as you say you are. You're tough, but not as tough as you believe you are, that's for sure. I don't know why you think you're better than all the rest. I have to admit, I am going to love watching this match between you and Zarek. Two talented wrestlers going at it, I love it. You are not my favorite person, partly because of Zarek, but I don't hate you either. Like I said before, you have some talent, but you are no better than certain people. You make yourself out to be this god, when you are obviously not. Maybe some of the fans believe the things you say, but I don't"

Flipping towards the movelist, and finisher section, "I see you have a pretty strong finished. 'Pierced' is that what you call it? That's pretty clever of you Evan, not expected from a man that can barely speek English.

For the last week, Abram had been by Zarek's side the whole way, and now, with Zarek sort of brushing him off, he felt a little left out. Abram, being determined to help with something, decided to push a little more.

Walking over to where Zarek is lifting, "I could spot you or something."

"That's quite already Abram. I just need some peace and quiet right now if you don't mind." Zarek was attempting to push Abram away as subtle as possible, but Abram took the hint.

"Alright then" as Abram sulked off.

Abram hadn't been away from Zarek's side ever since the beginning of the week, it felt wierd being alone. He wasn't obsessed with Zarek or anything, but Abram didn't know any other superstars, and there were people out there, enemies of Zarek of course, that didn't exactly love Abram. Abram continued out the door, figuring Zarek would only need about a half an hour or so, before Abram could return. Abram roamed the halls a bit before running into a door reading 'management'. He was curious, so he turned the doorknob and it opened. Holy crap, everyone in management must be getting ready for 2007 Wayz 2 Die. He shut the door real quick, took his hand off the doorknob and looked around a bit before seeing a janitor. The janitor looked at him suspiciously.

"Uhh...hey," Abram tried not to sound nervous, but it wasn't working very well, "I'm just waiting for a member of management to return"

The janitor knodded, as if he actually believed him, and continued on his way. That was close, Abram can't believe the janitor really believed him. Abram waits until the janitor is completely around the corner before continuing into the room. As soon as he gets in, he shuts the door behind him and turns on the light. It's someone's office, whose it actually is, is unknown, but it obviously belongs to someone of management, and Abram shouldn't be in here. There is a file cabinent on the side though, and Abram's curiousity gets the best of him. Abram opens it and flips through, realizing that these are all of the contracts/resumees from the superstars of BUD. Abram decides to have a little fun with it.

Abram flipped open to a certain person and picked them out, "Aha, Evan Pierce", he said aloud as soon as he found who he was looking for.

You make yourself out to be this god, when you are obviously not. Maybe some of the fans believe the things you say, but I don't"

Flipping towards the movelist, and finisher section, "I see you have a pretty strong finished. It fits you, no doubt. 'Pierced' is that what you call it? That's pretty clever of you Evan, not expected from a man that can barely speek English, as Zarek made a point of earlier. Evan, I find it a little sad that you felt the need to hook up with Corey Vega in order to take out Zarek. True, that's probably not what you're intentions were, but that's what is going to happen. I know you probably could care less about what I, or the fans, think, but you're losing a lot of respect. I suppose this fits you as well though, your personality anyway. I'm guessing that's your way of getting ahead, and that's your way of becoming a champion. Just know, that if you do so happen to become World Heavyweight Champion, coming from a fan here, nobody will look at you as a legend if you do so in this mannor."

Although Zarek would have liked Abram too, Abram didn't rip up the contract or do anything of that nature with it. He simply folded it back up, stuck it in the file, and continued on with his search for people. He knew he probably shouldn't be in this office right now, but he was curious. He flipped through the files fast, looking for a specific person, although everybody pretty much already knew who he as going to choose. He finally found a file, took it out, and put it onto the desk, as he did the other.

Opening to the front page, seeing a picutre of Corey Vega,
"Which brings me to the next person in line, Corey Vega. Now, I know I once told Zarek that I knew mostly everything about superstars' history, but I honestly know close to nothing about you. I don't know where you've been, nor do I know where you came from. You are an odd, mysterious character, and that's what scares me about you. I understand you, along with Evan, are also a returning man, although you returned earlier. Hmm...you both definitely have similiar qualities. Both men were in BUD once, failed to do anything with their career while there, left, and is now back to attempt to do something. I would say it's a little pathetic you couldn't do anything with yourself the first time, but then again, I don't exactly know what it was like for you two back then, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt."

He closes the file, not bothering to look any further into the situation, "To be completely honest with you Corey, you don't interest me much. I understand you are number five on the standings, so I would like to ask how you got there? You're not a very interesting man, which in itself is terrifying, because it's always the uninteresting ones that turn out to be murders. I find it kind of wierd that for some reason you claim Zarek doesn't care about this sport? He's put more than his body on the line for this sport, and you say he doesn't care? Somebody is jumping the gun here. I also find it funny that you say he hasn't talked about the match. Even before the last promo, he had subjected the match. Just because he doesn't feel the need to talk about you, doesn't mean he isn't talking about the match. Just like you said, what, a whole sentence about Zarek during your first promo. So does that mean you weren't talking about the match as well. I'm sure that if you were here, you'd beg to differ, which makes you a hypocrite in the end."

In all honesty, Abram nor Zarek took Corey seriously in this match, and it was popular belief that neither did Evan Pierce. Although he said Corey had 'raw talent' and wanted to make some sort of alliance, it's more likely that Evan Pierce, being Evan Pierce and all, is using Corey as a pawn, and Corey has fallen right into Evan's palm. It's kind of pathetic that Corey actually believes Evan really wants to make some sort of alliance with him. What's even more pathetic is that if you look back on it, Corey is actually the one that started kissing ass even before Evan started doing his dirty work. This match has gotten dity. Well, may the best liar win, I suppose.

Pulling out yet another file, hopefully the last one, nobody has any idea as to who it is,
"John Wilson of course. Everyone seems to have forgotten that Zarek is still in the THC free-for-all, and Mr. Wilson seems to be the only other person that is involved in this thing. There is a possibility that I might've skipped someone, but I believe this thing is just going to be a one on one between John Wilson and Zarek. Definitely not what the management had hoped for, no doubt, but I think the people will get their money's worth. Both John and Zarek are strong competitors. I think an extra twist in this, is one of Zarek's opponents is the same man that John beat last week, Corey Vega. That'll definitely make for one hell of a match. It could of twists up the statisitcs, don't you think? Say if Zarek somehow loses to Corey, yet beats John, it's very interesting, if you ask me. Then you add in the THC stipulation, and you got yourself on hell of a match."

Abram flips the page and suddenly his interest comes to life. In front of him, sits a picture of a beautiful woman, "Wow, I don't know much about you John, but I do know that you have a very good taste in women, especially with Genna on your arm, and that is saying something. You're a lucky man, John, to have such a wonderful woman by your side. If I'm lucky, she'll be accompaning you to the ring tonight. Not to be a perv or anything, it's just, she's easily one the best looking females in BUD. Back to John, I'm sure you'll put up a great match against Zarek. Unlike his other opponents in the triple threat match, I believe you have class, and if anyone was to defeat Zarek tonight, or any night for that matter, I would rather it be you rather than Corey vega or Evan Pierce. That's all I have to say about that, I suppose I'll be seeing you from my spot at ringside."

As Abram is putting back John Wilson's file, a noise is heard behind him. Afraid a member of management is returning, he slides the droor back, and quickly turns around. Luckily for him, it isn't a member of management, but the janitor. The janitor is looking at him as if he has commited a crime, because Abram is obviously not a member of management. Abram sighes that it's just the janitor, but then the terror arises that the janitor would call a member of management.

"You shouldn't be in here.", is all the janitor says before moving aside so Abram can go.

Abram considers himself lucky in getting away without being caught. He had been so reckless today, been so stupid. Why the hell would he stay in that room and just go through superstar files? He could have been caught, but he wasn't, thank god. Abram walks towards the gym, where Zarek hopefully still is, feeling like the luckiest man alive. Abram pushes the door open and looks around, seeing superstars such as Johnny Striker, Damien Crow, and Leaky Formet, but no Zarek.

"What have you been up too?" Abram turns around and sees a questionable Zarek looking upon him.

"Nothing really", Abram responds with a guilty look. Zarek had a feeling that something else went on besides 'nothing' but he had a match coming up next, and didn't really care what kind of trouble Abram got himsmelf into, as long as he didn't get caught doing it.

Abram smiled at Zarek, as if he knew something that Zarek didn't know, and they both continued back to Zarek's locker room. In a couple hours, the seats will be filled, the fans will be cheering, and the taping will begin. There's only a matter of time before 2007 Wayz 2 Die is under way, and the tenacity is in the air. This will definitely be one Pay-Per-View to remember, partly because Evan Pierce is making hie return to the ring, and Zarek Lyle is making his debut in BUD. Everyone knows these two will be top competitors one day, and this match will be looked upon as where it all started, or in Evan's case, started again. It's a match to remember, no doubt, historical even for these men. Even though the triple threat match is in the lower half of the card, it's blossomed, it's taken form, and there's no way of stopping it. This very day, this is very event, this very match, is where Zarek began his ascent...

from the bottom.
