Chapter Three: "A Rendezvous With Destiny."

PEOPLE U/M: Lyle, Jade // Manic
BUD RECORD:
05/01/00
METHODS OF MADNESS: This is written a bit differently, and I enjoyed it. It starts off in the regular third person point-of-view, further along in the scene. It then switches to the beginning of the scene, in the first person. Btw, there is a camera filming this, they just don't acknowledge it just about the whole time.

The scene opens to reveal an alleyway, the sky dark and rainy. Suddenly, two people run around the corner followed by a group of people. One of them, is none other than BUD superstar, Zarek Lyle, and the other, is unknown due to the fact that the person has a hood over his or her head. The two obviously know each other, and the crowd behind carries cameras in thier hands. The two come to a fence, jump it and tumble to the otherside. The scene goes black, and there is nothing. Through the darkness, a voice is heard, that of Zarek Lyle's.

"So there we were, running for our lives. Not really for our lives, but for our privacy."

The scene then switches to some type of resteraunt where Zarek was sitting. I had been sitting there for quite some time, my water in front of me, the waiter coming every ten minutes asking if I'm ready to order. My answer was always no, of course, because the person I was meeting had yet to show up. The door of the cafe opened and the little bell on the top of the door sounded. I didn't turn around, seeing as after the first three, it was getting tiring. I decided not to turn around everytime I heard the door sound, and just wait for the person to arrive, he or she would be here when they arrive.

This time, it was her though. I heard the footsteps from behind, but my instincts told me not to turn around, it could very well be someone else. Then I saw her. I looked down at my glass, planning on taking a drink, when I saw her reflection in the glass. She was just as beautiful as the first time I had seen her. Her blue eyes shown bright through the reflection of the water. Even with the water being blurry, she still took my breath away. I heard her voice from behind.

"We've got to stop meeting like this..." She sat down in the booth beside me, and folded her hands on the table. It was the first time I had seen her since the match, and as said many times before, she was as gorgeous as ever. She wore blue jeans, and a black hoody, hoping that nobody would recognize her when she wore such attire.

"True, true. So tell me, how have you been Jade?" I looked at her inquisitively, attempting to show that I cared. I had always had that problem, people never thought I cared, but I do, especially about her.

She sighed deeply, looking back on the week. "Well, the relationship between DC and I is on the rocks, which is to be expected. What I hope he gets though, is that if he ever does that again, I won't hesitate to screw him over a second time."

I frowned a little and touched Jade's cheek. She smiled a bit and knoded, indicating that it happened like a week ago, and wouldn't hurt anymore, "I'm sorry I wasn't there to stop that from happening. I must say though, you definitely know how to take care of yourself. I'm glad your on my side or I would be screwed." I laughed, attempting to make humor out of the situation. She smiled a bit, which made me feel a little warm inside.

Her smile ran away as quickly as it had appeared. All of a sudden, she got really serious, "So Zarek, let me ask you something. What's the deal with this Flaming Casket's match? I don't like it..."

I could see the concern on her face and noted that she needed some reassuring. "Don't worry about it, I can promise you that I will walk out of that match unharmed. Manic was lucky the first time, and I can admit he got the best of me, but not this time, not ever again." I brushed the side of her cheek again, and smiled at her, but she didn't smile back this time.

TBC: No one.

I brushed the side of her cheek again, and smiled at her, but she didn't smile back this time.

She looked at me, her eyes still filled with concern. I wanted so much to take that away, I wanted so much to make her believe that I woulc be walking out of this match with no injuries, but the truth is, I didn't believe it myself. Walking into this match, I know very well that something could happen to me, and I'm ready for it. As much as I try to assure Jade nothing is going to happen to me, she knows too that I can't be sure of that, and that's what worries her.

"Did you see Manic's recent promo?" She attempted to change the subject, although we both knew we'd have to come back to it sooner or later, it couldn't be avoided. I went along with it, to take her mind off of it.

I wanted to laugh, but I couldn't, the moment was to serious, "Truthfully, no I haven't. I stopped watching promos due to the fact that I no longer desire to hear the endless babble that comes out of his mouth..."

"Well he seems to think he has your number, and claiming you think you're the best again..."

This time, I really did laugh a bit, although I attempted to keep it silent. "The very reason as to why I don't view his promos anymore. I do remember last time, that I said something along the lines that I would defeat him easily. This time however, I have said no such thing. It's hiliarious though, that Manic is confusing this time with last time. I actually gave him the benefit of the doubt that he has what it takes to take the championship away from me. He however still tries to make me out to be the bad guy. What's even more hiliarious is that everyone sees both of our promos, and knows I said no such thing, so it makes him look like a dumbass."

Her seriousness went away for a moment, knowing this to be true, "He also says something about how your story of the match two weeks ago is totally false, and he attempted to rebuttle against your 'Manic is all talk' line..." She giggles.

I sighed deeply. I almost felt sorry for him. Manic was making himself out to be a complete fool, and he didn't even know it. I tried to help him by telling him he sounded like an idiot, I really did, but he just couldn't take the hint "It's almost pathetic now. I mean, I try to help him out, but he does the same exact thing. Everyone saw the match, and know my version to be true, so why does he try to deny it?" Jade shakes her head, "And here he goes misinterpreting my words yet again. I know I told him before that if he's going to watch my promos, then to watch the whole thing so he doesn't seem incompetant. In truth, I said Manic had ability, but his mouth would get him into trouble, because all he does is pour out lie after lie."

"I bet that wasn't the only thing he did to make a jackass out of himself. Let's see, he probably denied the fact that he paraded around BUD about the win, which is also a complete lie. Everyone saw it in his promos against Justin Black. It's kind of sad what Manic is doing to himself, you know? He attempts to contridict whatever I have to say, but in doing so just shows himself as much more of a fool. I wish he'd just take the hint and just shut up..."

I hadn't realized it at the moment, but I had let slip something that arose Jade's concern again. I had admitted that Manic had something, and could possibly win this thing at Ultimate War VI. Jade's smile again disappeared and her worried look gazes at me again, piercing my skin. I hated to see her like this. She was such a confident wrestler, but the truth was, when it came to some people, I wasn't. The defeat last time did happen, no matter how it happened, and that's why I know I have a chance of losing this time around as well.

Another deep sigh, followed by a serious tone yet again. "So you admit, that there is a chance, you might not walk out of this match as the victor?"

Another deep sigh, followed by a serious tone yet again. "So you admit, that there is a chance, you might not walk out of this match as the victor?"

I gulped a little, and figured it was time to tell her, "Uhh...yeah, I admit it. But I guarentee, I will do everything in my power not to get thrown into that casket. I know it doesn't help in hearing me say this, but know that I can do it."

She knodded, she was so different in her mood towards her opponent, is was astounding. "Okay, but if you get hurt, I'll kick Manic's ass myself..." I laughed and knodded, going in for a hug.

Suddenly some sort of flash was seen. I looked around, wondering where it was coming from. The was a man, not to far from us, attempting to take some picture. Holy crap, are you kidding me? Jade immediatly put her hood up and we walked out of the cafe as quickly as possible. Apparently, he wasn't the only person who knew we were there, because the moment we walked out of the door, a bunch of flashes went off. We took off around the corner and ended up in some allyway as the paparrazi, I would assume, chanced us down. There was a fence, and the only option was to jump it, so we did. Landing on the otherside, we took off in the same direction at first and stopped behind a building.

Both of us breathing deeply, I begin to speak to her as fast as I can. "I'll see you at the arena tonight, and don't worry about me, I'll be fine." She knodded, still a bit worried, no matter what I said. Before she got out of grasped, I grabbed her arm and pulled her in for a kiss. It lasted a lifetime...of only about five seconds, before we took off in different directions.

About a minute later, I began to slow down, knowing that there was a great possibility they wouldn't follow me after the fence anyway. I was a little tired, so I stopped and laid in a grassfield nearby, looking up at the stars. Jade had a reason to be worried, because if I wasn't one hundred percent possitive of my win, how could she be? It was understandable, but I still needed to walk away with the win here. The thought of Manic as champion was a scary and dispicable thought. I needed to keep the BUDvision Champion, for Jade, for me, for everyone. I then looked at the camera, I knew had been following me the whole time.

"You see Manic, I did happen to catch your promo, however it did, as expected, hurt my hears to hear. You're right about one thing, the world did see you defeat me, but the world also saw how it happened, so stop playing stupid. I fail to prove everything I said? Hmm...that's an amazing thought, by again, a false one. I have one lose, to you, and have proved everything I have said, except for you. I really have no idea what is going through your head when you say these things, but you should really be checked out or something." I got up off of the ground, and brushed myself off. Manic has potential, he really does, but as said before, he needs to be put in check.

"Lastly, I talked about befriending you, for the simple reason of that it was asked of me, and I told the truth. It was in no way, an attempt to getting out of having to face you, and it's funny you would even say that. I went up against Jade, I went up against Melanie, and they are both some allies of mine, so why would that even be a choice? You know, with most things, I don't believe you in this whole reaction thing. You may not react in the same exact way I did, but I know you will be looking for revenge. It's who you are Manic, accept it. A blow to your ego such as being defeated by a man that you have already proven yourself against, is to much for you. You'll be looking for another shot like any other person would..."

I don't like, one bit, having to go up against Manic. Not because I am scared in any way, but more because he is one of the most unsavory characters I have ever met. He spills garbage to the rest in the world, and his shady ways are not of the highest envy one bit. This whole ordeal, was simply a battle of the moth and the crow.

But who's the moth, and who's the crow?
