"Here We Go Again."

JULY 22nd, TWO-THOUSAND SEVEN
BEYOND REDEMPTION

Zarek was still able to rise on his feet and strike back. Chris stepped, then Zarek went for rolling clothesline. He turned Chris’s body over the ropes and fell together with him. Both men felt on the cold ground and left there lying almost immovable.  Jade slowly went to the edge of the ring and looked at them. She started counting down. 1?2?3?Zarek started to move his body?..6..Chris raised on his feet..7..8..Both men got in the ring. Zarek grabbed Chris’s outfit and made him raise. Chris faltered. Zarek waited for the exact moment and went for his famous Apollo’s Call. Chris dropped on the ring.

"That’s it! Zarek won!" Lance was now on his feet. He could feel the match was just inches away from coming to a close.

"Zarek went for a pinfall!" Mark Hellion felt the same way, as he almost jumped to his feet. The match was filled with tenacity and hate, and it reflected off both Zarek and Chris as they battled to the death. It was something much more than just a match. Deep in their mind, it was over the woman they both loved, Jade.

Jade slid to them. She started counting down ?nbsp;One...Two... Her hand rose in the air but didn’t touch the ring.

"What the hell is she doing?" The excitement from the previous moment had taken a turn, and the excitement had gotten knocked up a few notches.

"Saving Chris’s ass" Mark had to be the first to notice the sad but true fact.

Jade clenched her fist and raised on her feet. Zarek raised on his feet too, looking questioning at his beloved. Jade went to him, touching him lightly on the shoulders. You could hear the BUDVision champion yelling in bewilderment.  You could hear her voice.

"I love you more than anything? she began, a look of desperation in her eyes, "but I can’t do it Zarek, I just can’t."

Jade turned her back and slid under the ropes, leaving the ring.

"What the hell is she doing?" Lance repeated himself, putting more emphasis on his statement this time. It was the question that ran through everybody's mind at this point, what was Jade doing?

"It seems that Jade won’t finish the match" Hellion added, stating the obvious, but providing the only answer he could think of.

Zarek waited few more seconds, looking after her and during the time Chris managed to get on his feet. Zarek’s expression was blank. He couldn’t understand what she just did. He turned around with the only thought in his head to finish his opponent but Chris surprised him with a boot in the face. Zarek staggered. Chris grabbed him and lifted him on the ropes. Zarek was bleeding more than before. Jade was standing near the ring watching Chris’s moves. She put her hand on her mouth , knowing what was next. Chris pointed at her, meaning that’s for you and finished his opponent with his spotlight finisher Burden Bearer. Both fell on the ring but quickly Chris managed on the top of Zarek. Ina minute another referee ran down the ramp and went on the ring. He started counting?/FONT>

One...Two...

"C’mon Champ!" Lance was screaming now.

As the referee raised his hand and then slowly began to lower it, the hearts of millions began to sink. There was still that chance that Zarek could get his shoulder up, still that hope that lie there waiting to be picked up. With each millimeter the ref's hand came to the canvas, that hope died. Three!

XXXXXXXXXX

Hmm...how long had it been since Zarek had set a foot inside the front door of BUD? Well, actually, not that long. But how long since Zarek had been on his A game inside the door of BUD? Quite awhile, as many would tell you. Random no-shows, and when he actually did show up, his performance was less than exceptional. Mediocre, at best. But this isn't something that hasn't been said before, is it? This isn't really something many a superstar had already secretly thought, is it? No, I would assume not. Your whispers aren't exactly low enough. Everyone secretly converses on ponders what happened to Zarek Lyle. How could such a strong individual slowly but surely deteriate right before your very eyes. How could someone who held the BUDvision Championship with such pride, who was voted best newcomer of 2007, and be thought of as a future World Heavyweight Champion, suddenly take a turn for the worst? The question goes unanswered, to be brought up at another point in time. All that matters now, is that once again, he's back, but who is it this time? Strong willed, determined Zarek, or pitiful weak Zarek? Only time will tell.

The all too familiar sound of Zarek's shows shuffling across the pavement sounded throughout the arena. He had been in BUD off and on for almost a year now, and he never got tired of walking into the arena each time. There was a certain smell to it, a certain excitement that filled your soul. It seemed to remind you that you were in for a ride, so you better hold on tight. Zarek new this better than almost anyone - going from on top to down low several times while in these halls. He had spoken with Stephanie the day before, and she had set up a temporary homestead for Zarek's last minute "I'm going backstage". She had better things to deal with then another one of Zarek's mood swings. All the same, it was nice to be backstage again. As he continued walking down the hall, a young woman exited a room, shutting the door behind her with a loud thud. She looked all to familiar, but Zarek couldn't quite pin point where he knew her from. A closer look would reveal her as Sam, Jade's assisstant. It has been awhile since he had seen her, it had been awhile since he had seen Jade. Christina Gellar was not an easy woman to find...not like he went looking for her or anything. He stepped a little closer to her as the woman slowly began her ascent down the hall. She obviously had something on her mind, because she didn't look up right away, but of course, when she did, she was more than surprised.

"Oh wow," she gasped.
"There was a rumor going around that you could be returning, but you never know what you should believe  around this place. Where have you been?"

"Oh, you know, here and there taking care of things. I figured it was time to come back though, for real this time. Not like all of the other 'returns'." They both laughed, knowing Zarek had a terrible habit of taking off without much of an explanation.
"So what have you been up too?"

"Not to much. Just tending to personal stuff, and things of that nature."
She knodded, trying to keep her gaze from the door she had just come out of, and desperatly hoping Zarek wouldn't ask who was in there. She didn't want to set Jade up for any awkward moments, but she was a terribly bad liar, and even if she could squeeze out a lie, Zarek would see right through her.

"So..." he began slowly, knoding his head slightly.
"What has Christina been up to lately? I called once or twice but..."

"Oh, she's been busy. You know her, always has to keep going, never any time to settle down a bit." She was talking a little faster now, and laughing nervously every so often.

"A little birdy told me that she might be coming back, as well but like you said, you never know what to believe around here. What do you think?"
He asked, a devious look across his face.

"I'm not sure, you never know with rumors..." Was all she said, and then began to turn heel.

"She's in there, isn't she?" He added. She slowly turned around, hoping he wasn't looking at the locker room door. Much to her dismay, he was. She knodded a bit, and Zarek tiped his head in gratitude, stepping towards the door. Sam continued walking down the hall, not particularly wanting to witness this "warm" reunion.

Zarek began to turn the door handle, and then slowly pushed it open. It squeeked a bit, but that was to be expected. There she was, the woman that he had once loved, sitting on the couch, her arms folded across her chest. She didn't even look up. She looked a little different, but she was always changing with experience, so it wasn't to surprising. Even with her hair dyed a bit, and her looks slightly tweaked, he could still tell she was the same old Christina Gellar. The same woman he had fallen in love with several months ago. Without even speaking to her, he knew. She looked a little tired, probably from the trip. He walked in a little bit more, drawing closer to her.

"Sam, I thought I told you I need to be alone..." mid-sentence her head turned his way, and gazed upon the man she didn't expect to see standing in her doorway. Her voice drowned out the rest of the sentence, noticing that it was not Sam at all.

Zarek hadn't really gone over this moment in his mind, so he wasn't exactly sure what he would say. "Hey..." was all he could think of.

"Hi..." She responded, smiling slightly, wanting to be polite but not knowing want to say either.

"How have you been?" Small talk was not his best area, but it was keeping the two from engaging in an awkward silence...and yelling.

"I've been good, I suppose. And yourself?" She was almost finding this amusing. But an awkward amusing...

"Good, good." How pathetic. They hadn't seen each other in months, and this is the best conversation they could come up with.

Thinking he should probably leave, because they were both a bit uncomfortable "Listen, I know I'm probably the last person you expected or wanted to see upon your return here, and believe me, I didn't expect to see you either. But in all honesty, I'm glad I did. After Beyond Redemption I kind of disappeared, and when I came back, you were gone. From then on it seemed as if we just kept missing each other, which means we were left with loose ends. We've definitely had our tough times in the past, but we've had our good times, as well. The least we can do is tie the ends. I miss you Chris, and I'd rather be your friend, than nothing at all..."

He thought about extending his hand, he thought about embracing her for a hug, he even though about getting closer to kiss her, but he wasn't sure which one said "friend" without "buisness partnership" or "friend" without "potentially more". So instead, he just stood there awaiting her reply.

METHODS OF MADNESS: Yay. Finally, it's about time I got this up. Obviously Deni should get the reply :]
