Chapter I: Home Sweet Home

METHODS OF MADNESS: Well this one is just to pretty much kick things up, get things rolling with this match. It's pretty basic, not much to go off of other than history. It's kind of a "he's back" type of rp. Not really as Zarek's presence, but his talent rather...if anything I am typing right now makes sense lol

The faster they rise, the harder they fall. To most it's just another one of those annoying sayings that you hear constantly, something that you'll never quite understand why people say it. To Zarek, it's a way of life. The first time Zarek was in the ring, all he could do was impress. Impress people by winning two matchs in one night, impress people by winning the BUDvision title while not even under contract for a month yet, and impress people by retaining it for more than two months, which nobody expected. It happened so fast, that it was only a matter of time before he fell back down.

The car door slamed shut, echoing throughout the parking lot, as Zarek stepped out of his car. He wore his usual casual wear. A black t-shirt with jeans. The Hangover card has been anounced and it was no secret that Zarek needed to brush up on a few things. He found it in his best interest that he should familiarize himself with the ring. Although wrestling was like riding a bike, Zarek still felt more comfortable if he stepped into the ring before the actual match, in order to get into the mental state he needed to be in. Leaky Format was a definte enemy of Zarek, as anyone that's been around in the past year would tell you. The two had numerous battles over Zarek's BUDvision strap and they even had a showdown on the gradest stage, BUDmania, in a Flaming Ladder Cage match. The events of that match, especially the end, will never be forgotten in either of the mens mind. It would be interesting to see if Leaky had sharpened his wrestling skills since then. Jake Frost was the other participants, and to Zarek, the more intriguing of the two. Jake had years of wisdom under his belt, and his name was mentioned more than once in the archives. It was obvious he was one to watch out for, but the hype only made Zarek want to get his hands on Jake more.

Zarek spoke into the camera like it was an old friend he hadn't seen in awhile, because in truth, it was.
"It's not everyday that you return to the ring...again. Well, for someone like me, maybe it is. I haven't been away for that long or anything. A couple weeks at the most, and before that a couple more weeks. It's become something of a habit, as most of you may know, and even when I was in the ring, I wasn't anywhere near my best. But this time, I don't plan on leaving anytime soon, and I sure as hell don't plan on putting on any mediocre performances. No, this time, unfortunantly for most, I'm in it for the long run. The poor showing against Tragedy was not my most shinning moment, my match for the World Heavyweight Championship was shameful, I can admit, and the attack on me by Miss VixXxen and Lyrica is even more shameful. These past two months or so are not something I'm proud of, but I do plan on fixing it. If that means becoming a three time BUDvision Champion, then so be it. If that means having to take out both Lyrica and Miss VixXxen then so be it. Even if it means becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, and being the kind of champion that Bobby Johnson couldn't, then so be it..."

From the very first time Zarek stepped into BUD, many said he was destined for greatness. Winning the BUDvision title so early in his career would back many peoples predictions. For almost a year now people had been saying he would one day become the World Heavyweight Champion. Some were even so bold as to anounce Zarek as the next Bobby Johnson, though that is still highly up for debate. In summary, Zarek has had his mind on the prize for some time, and he's destined to touch it. It's his birth right.

Zarek's familiarity of BUD's backstage was slowly but surely coming back to him. Corridors previously traveled began to illuminate in his mind, and he knew exactly where to go. It was almost as if nothing had happened..
"Speaking of the World Heavyweight Championship, it seems to have been vacated quite awhile ago. By now, there must be some contenders in line for it. Infact, I bet I can name someone who has just been dying to get his hands on that title for some time now, Leaky Format. You always did have high hopes Leaky, even if those hopes got shot down time and time again, they were always high for some reason. Like the time you kept trying to take the BUDvision Championship out of my hands, but you never could do it, could you Leaky? Even when he attacked me after every match, you still weren't able to get the title off of my shoulder and onto yours, could you? It's funny, actually. The fact that you wanted to take after Bobby Johnson as BUDvision Champion way back then, and now you want to take after him as World Heavyweight Champion, as well. Hmm...it seems to me that I just might stand in your way once again?"

Zarek was slowly making his way through the BUD arena...making his way towards the ring. He smils a bit. "But that's another chat for anything time, because this week isn't about the World Heavyweight strap, or even the BUDvision strap. No, this week is about, you, Jake Frost, and myself. It's amusing that you still have your ego intact, Leaky. I'm not sure why, considering it's been deflated time and time again, but it's still intact. I know for a fact that I put a damper on your oversized head a couple hundred times. I never understood how you could be so cocky, when you only win maybe one match every seven months."

Aww. Behind the black velvet curtain. So many anxiety filled, yet excited, moments had happened here. The thrill you get just waiting for the que for you to go. You're getting pumped, the fans are waiting. You're given the que, your music starts to play, and it's showtime. "Okay Leaky, you beat Amber, congrats. You made it to the number one contendership to the Franchise title, even better. Hey, you may even have a slight chance at winning that title, I'm happy for you, really. But here's the thing, honestly, do you really think Amber measures up to Jake and myself? Sure, she's one hell of an opponent, but she's a rookie compared to me, forget about even comparing her to the experience that Jake has stacked up. So you have a win over Amber, but do you really think you'll be able to pull one over on both Jake and I? Like I said, you've never been able to get one over on me before. Oh wait, let me take that back. Your whole little squad of Leaky worshipers had to come out with weapons before you could get me down, I remember that. But oh wait, weren't the Leak Guards kicked out of BUD because they got their asses kicked? Hmm...yes, I do remember that quite well. It appears you are just out of luck, Leaky. The only way you'll be able to come out of this one on top, is if Jake somehow puts one over me, and you somehow put one over him, or the other way around. But what are the odds of something like that happening? You're only allowed one miracle in a lifetime, and I believe you used yours one beating Dante."

Zarek began his ascent down the ramp, leading down to the ring. He could almost hear his music blaring through the speakers, the fans cheering, and he began to get excited. The rush of it all came back, and he felt it once again. In a few days, it would be real.. "Speaking of Jake, I guess he is my other opponent. In truth, I don't know much about him, other than the fact that he knows his way around this part. I've almost been around a year, but I'm pretty sure he's got a few over me when it comes to BUD. I know he has a couple of title wins under to his names, but I'm not quite sure which ones. The archives seem to be acting up at the moment, so I'm a little in the dark about Jake. I did once respect you Jake, but after the display I saw at Ungrateful, that respect is slowly deteriating. Aligning yourself with Tragedy isn't a very smart idea. Take it from someone who's been there. He's only in it for himself. You're just another stone that he can step on that will get him to what he wants. Of course, you're going to have to find out the hard way of the buisness he deals in."

He walked up the steel steps and ducked under the second rope, a bit. As he entered the BUD ring, he had several flashbacks. A sudden rush of previous matchs suddenly entered into his mind, as if he had just been there. From his very first match against Corey Vega and Evan Pierce at 2007 Wayz 2 Die, to his last against Bobby Johnson for the World Heavyweight Championship. It was all to familiar, as almost a year of matchs hit him in the face.

He walked upto the ropes and shook them a bit, checking their stabilitiy. Just as sturdy as always. "Hmmm...seems like I haven't been here in quite some while. Well, it hasn't been that long, but it definitely feels like it. So Jake, I'm looking forward to seeing you in the ring. As for Leaky, you don't seem to concerned about your opponents, when we both know that you should be..."

"Welcome home, Mr. Lyle. It's good to have you back in the ring." A usual maintance man called from the commentators table, tipping his hat at Zarek. It had seen so strange to him before, the thought of coming back to BUD. So many forces had forced him away, but so many had brought him here. It was in this moment that it hit him like a ton of bricks. Before BUD, Zarek was nothing. Just another underground wrestler trying to make it through the indy scene with some credentials. Before BUD, nobody knew who Zarek Lyle was. BUD's the place the made Zarek who he is today, it's where he's spent the last year of his life, and where he plans to spend many more. Besides, it has a nice ring to it, don't you think? Zarek had wandered for most of his life looking for a place to call his own. But now, he was finally...

home.
