Chapter One: "Deja Vu."

PEOPLE U/M: Lyle, Abram // Manic, Black
BUD RECORD:
04/01/00
METHODS OF MADNESS: Ahh.. such a busy week. I am definitely getting stuff up though. Hopefully something else but tonight, and maybe something tomorrow. My show is ending though, so I will have more time after this weekend.

Extatic, could not explain the way Zarek Lyle felt when he looked upon the card for Ultimate War XI. This being his month anniversary since entering a BUD ring, this pay-per-view was to be something terrific. A month ago, a young man, who had wrestled in independant federations all his life, signed a BUD contract. Stepping into the ring for the first time, anxious couldn't even bring to light what he was feeling. That man set the BUD roster ablaze, and in a short month's time, has capture the THC and BUDvision Championships. Throughout the past weeks, there was one man who managed to defeat Zarek. To see that he was going up again Manic, the very man that had gotten under his skin before, was almost a dream come true. Attempting to redeem himself in the free-for-all didn't work out as planned, due to the fact that Manic dropped out, but this time, there was no dropping out. One-on-one in a Flaming Casket match, for Zarek's BUDvision Championship, nonetheless. Revenge is a powerful thing, and what a way to redeem oneself...

Three weeks ago, Zarek, still very much a rookie to the big time entertainment buisness, was involved in a showdown with Manic, also a rookie. The week showed both men were made of gold, never backing down from each other. In the end, as always, only one man would be able to have his hand raised at the end of the match. A No Disqualification match fit the pair well, both going all out in order to get one up on the other. As fate would have it, Zarek missed with a "Death Of A Hero", causing Manic to gain control and capalize on the situation, ultimately leading to Zarek's downfall. Not the most graceful of victories, but a victory nonetheless.

Our scene opens in complete darkness, and whoever was in the room at the time, could see absolutley nothing. It's as if someone completely turned off the sun, as well as all forms of electricity and artificial light. The sound of a fan or some type of background music is heard, but that's about it. All of a sudden a laugh is heard, followed by a "shh...". Only but a few seconds later, the sun shined through the window and illuminated the room. It was some type of hotel room, with two beds. On one bed sat Abram, with his hands crossed, and Zarek is by the window, but he must have been sitting on the other bed.

"You know Abram, it's times like these that make you wonder about chance and destiny..." Zarek had a bright smile upon his face as he opened the curtain and the morning sun shined through.

The two had been sitting there in the dark for quite some time. It was part of this whole meditation deal that they were trying out. Yes, a bit awkward, but pretty cleansing. It really helped you clear your mind, and your thoughts. Anyway, thirty minutes of it was enough for Zarek, sitting in a dark room sort of closed off Zarek's personality. He needed the sunlight, he needed the rushing winds in his face, he needed to breath, it's just who he is. Abram on the other hand, loved this dark and depressing stuff, and was surprised when a burst of sunlight awoke him from his dreams.

Abram squinted his eyes, attempting to see into the sunlight, although his eyes couldn't change fast enough. He looked towards the area he believed Zarek to be. He could still see figures in attempting to open his eyes, "And why is that?"

Zarek chuckled at Abram's attempt to open his eyes. If the boy wasn't a good source of entertainment, there would really be no use for him. He sure as hell wasn't being a very good manager, being distracted by Kim and all, but alas, that is another story entirely, "Well, is it chance that I am going up against Manic, yet again, or destiny?"

Abram looked at him for a second, "Ahhh...shut up. Just because I like this sort of stuff, doesn't mean you have to mock me."

Zarek laughed, because infact, he was joking, but there was some truth in his statement, he brushed it aside for the time being, "Well, the fact is, that Manic and I will meet again, but this time, there's a lot more on the line..." Zarek looked towards the wall where the BUDvision Championship so conviently lay.

Abram looked towards the championship as well. It was somewhat amazing that in only a month, Zarek had managed to capture such a championship, with Abram by his side, no doubt. It was somewhat easy to climb the ladder up until this point, but now comes the hard part, the first defense. "Truthfully, I really have no idea how this whole thing is going to play out. You're strongheaded Zarek, but so is Manic, and he is definitely gunning for that BUDvision Championship. All you can do is...do your best, and hope it's good enough."

Zarek chuckled a bit, Manic was somewhat of a challenge, and to be honest, his ability caught him off guard the first time, but this time Zarek was ready. What amazed Zarek, is that Manic didn't consider that. Unlike the first time, where Manic knew exactly what Zarek was capable of, in seeing his performance at 2007 Wayz 2 Die, this time both knew exactly what the other could do. Zarek was at a disadvantage, to say the least, knowing not what to expect from this Manic person, but now Zarek was ready, they both were.

"Abram, this defense against Manic, will be quite interesting. From personal experience, all Manic knows how to do is twist his opponents words, and pour garbage out of his mouth. He pretends to cater to the fans, although whenever he opens his mouth, he can't help but letting a lie or two slip. It's been said before that he's all talk, and it's the truth." Zarek walked around the room and sat on the other side of the bed, next to the BUDvision Championship. He grabbed the remote on the bedside table, and turned on the television. It was on DVD, paused to a specific part, where Zarek pushes play.

"Let's rewind to our first encounter. I'll be honest, and say that it was pretty even throughout the whole match. Much to my dismay, I miscalculated a move, causing Manic to gain the victory. In no way, whatsoever, does that show talent on Manic's part, but a little over zealous on mine. In my mind, or anyone's even remotely sane, is that considered an asskicking, a beatdown, a head bashing, or any other words Manic attempted to use in describing our match." As he speaks, the ending manuevers in the match were played, showing Zarek's missed move, followed by Manic's DDT for the win.

Zarek pushes the stop button in the remote control, obviously stopping the tape. He proceeded to get to this feet, tossing the remote back onto the bed. "For weeks, Manic has been parading around the BUD arena, bragging on how he smashed Zarek Lyle into oblivion, and I just have to laugh. Don't get me wrong, I am not denying your win whatsoever, because in all honesty, he did walk out of the match with his hand raised, and that is what I agree on. The way Manic describes the win, is what I am protesting too. Well, I suppose a followup to such a match should be in order, to prove whose word is right...although there are tapes that prove him wrong. Thinking of Manic, it just makes me smile. Just knowing that he believes himself to be even a little bit better than me, is a laughable matter. True, I do not consider him to have any less ability than myself, I'll give him that, but again, I do not consider him to have more..."

Zarek suddenly realizes that Abram has yet to say a word since the mocking situation. He looks over at Abram, finding him gazing out the window. The sight is one to remember. The sun shing brightly on the world below, the birds singing in the trees, and for a moment, it almost appears that nature is at one with itself.

Zarek looks out the window as well, to see the same exact sight.  Where Abram sees hope, and beauty, Zarek sees devastation, and terror, "You know, there's so much in life to look forward too, so much that I have yet to accomplish in my life, but right now, there is only one thing on my mind, retaining the BUDvision Championship."

Abram turns from the window and gazes at Zarek for a second, wondering why he must take the fun out of everything, although he did have a point,  "This is only the first time Zarek. Even if you do retain, there will always be others gunning for that championship. Leaky's on your trail, and only granted you this match because he was tied up with Nikki. Then there's Emerald who was close to being the BUDvision Champion, instead of you. Justin Black has his heart set on winning the BUDvision Championship at least one ore time. There's already three competitors in a mass of them. What are you going to do then?"

Zarek turned from the window, no longer wanting to look upon the view. There was something so clear about Abram, that enabled him to look upon future problems, whereas Zarek would not. "I can't tell the future, but whatever comes my way, I'll take it on, it's the only thing you can do. Besides, it's always the first defense that's the hardest. Emerald, I'm not going to lie, is a formittable opponent, but I did however, one up her. On the other hand, Leaky relies to much on his guards to protect him, but whenever we go head to head, his guards won't be there. Plus, with Justin, I already way outlasted him in the free-for-all, and even Manic managed to defeat him. Not all veterans are talented, hell, not all former World Heavyweight Champions are talented, Leaky and Justin are proof of that..."

Zarek then walked around to the other side of Abram's bed again, right next to the BUDvision Championship. He gazed upon it, and ran his hand across the spot where his name was engraved. He couldn't help but look at it, it was so intriguing, but he hardly ever touched it. There was something, deep down in Zarek, that made him believe that he didn't deserve this belt. Yeah, he won it fair and square, but against a whole bunch of other people. With ten people in the ring, all you need is strategy in order to get others to throw out your opponents. That's not skill, well, skill in strategy, but it still made Zarek feel like he didn't deserve it.

Zarek took the championship off the wall, and held it in both of his hands. He looked at himself through the shine of the belt, and then a smile slid across his face,
"My future competitors can wait. What's the point in giving them the time of day, if I don't even know if I'll have the championship by next week. In this industry, you have to live in the now, and now, has me up against Manic for this very championship. Among the others, the only contender that I am thinking about at this moment, is Manic, because he's the one with the title shot at Ultimate War XI. He's the one, no matter what controversy surounds it, managed to gain a win on me, which means, that he's the one I have to focus on."

He tossed the BUDvision Championship onto the bed and slid it across the bed a bit. His attitude totally changed, and he was no longer lost in the glory of the BUDvision Championship, but all together confident that he would retain it "As said many times before, Manic is all talk, and attempts to not only minipulate the fans, but his opponents as well. He thinks he's the first one to make homosexual references towards Abram and I. Evan Pierce was actually the first one, and look where he ended up. It's quite funny that ignorant beings such as Manic and Evan Pierce would suggest Abram and I to be homosexual. Everyone knows about the controversy surounding the tag team match last week. Everyone knows the status of the relationship between Jade and I. At the same time, everyone knows about the somewhat love traingle between Kimberly Pain, the Canadian Dream, and Abram. So for Manic, it either means he's as ignorant as everyone believes him to be, or he didn't do his homework."

Remembering the contents of the Ultimate War XI card, Zarek silent lets out another laugh
"So you attempt to insult Abram and I by expressing your reasons as to why you believe us to be gay. I find your attempted insults quite laughable, quite laughable indeed, seeing as how after Ultimate War XI, we could very well have a homosexual World Heavyweight Champion..."

A timer goes off in a watch that is sitting on one of the bedside tables. Zarek walks over to the watch, picks it up, and gazes at the time that made the watch go off. Zarek gets a disappointed look on his face, and deeply sighes. Setting the watch back down, he slids a black duffel bag out from under the bed, and tosses it upon his shoulder. Without saying anything to Abram, he walks towards the door as if he is walking out. He then, for the first time, looks at the camera.

"It appears that I have so buisness to attend too, so unless you want to stay here with Abram, I suggest you hightail it as well."
Zarek walks out of the door, and turns to the ring. The camera begins to slowly fade to black, when Zarek suddenly enters the room again, looking at the camera, personally addressing Manic for the first time, "Oh, and Manic, if you're counting on this match playing out exactly how it did last time, I suggest you rethink your strategy."

With that, he knods, and walks out of the room for good this time, leaving the fans wondering exactly where he was going. The bigger question is, what will happen at Ultimate War XI? Will it have the same result as last time, or will it change? One thing is for sure, both men are in for one hell of a match. With the BUDvision Championship on the line, it's more radical than ever. It's been said that Manic wants this bad, and for that, he will walk away with the victory. What people don't see, is that Zarek wants it just as much, if not more. Shouting it to the world, does nothing, action is what gets results.

Instructions for an Ultimate War: You take a man with a newly won championship, seeking revenge. Toss in a second man, who managed to defeat the first man, and is looking to capture that newly won campionship. Mix in a stipulation of a devastating flaming casket match, a guarentee that one, if not both men, will walk away from this match with injuries. Lastly, while stirring, slowly add in the BUDvision Championship. A recipe for a sight previously seen, deja vu? Hardly.

TBC: Me.
