He had listened with every soul of his being, and it took just that for him to keep from lashing out. It wasn't Jade's fault that she happpened to misunderstand Zarek time and time again. Although her reasonings didn't exactly make sense, nobody would blame her for doing what she did. Zarek had stuck by the woman through everything. Through the lies, deception, he never left, but now that Jade is on top, she seems to be leaving him. Right when she got what she wanted, right? Maybe she's even admitted defeat, and realized the only way for her to get the upperhand is to hurt Zarek, emotionally, somehow. It definitely wouldn't be above her. The whole world saw he running around with Chris Burden way back when, so dirty deeds definitely had Jade's name written all over them. Unfortunantly for Christina Gellar, her little trail of lies wouldn't save her on Monday night, infact, she may have just written herself a deathwish.

He sat at the cafe for a moment, taking in what just happened. She had made no sense whatsoever in his brain, and it made him want to scream. Time and time again, he was always the one made to fight for her, but did she ever once have to fight for his love? Did he ever put her through any sort of challenge or leave her, and make her fight to get him back? No. Zarek's love was neverending when it came to Jade, and he never asked for anything in return. However, Jade decided to always give him something back...pain. In return for Zarek's love, nothing but pain ever came from loving Jade, and it was just not hitting him. This wasn't the first time it had happened. This whole Jade blowing up, saying somethings to try and hurt Zarek, claiming that he had hurt her. It was a regular thing when the two were actually together, and it amazed him that she was still doing it. It was moments like this that kept Zarek from ever fully putting his heart into loving her. The truth is, she has two faces. One, Christina Gellar, the woman Zarek fell in love with. The other, Jade, the bitch from hell that always managed to hurt Zarek in the end. Zarek gave a blank stare to nowhere in particular, feeling his heart break yet again. It was then that Dillion Rogers came from around the corner, taking Jade's seat, and a camera appeared out of nowhere.

"So Zarek, sorry to catch you off guard like this, but are you excited for tonight's match? It's only a few hours away now..."

Zarek had hoped to God that Dillion and the camera hadn't been close by, witnessing what had just gone down. Jade had said she wanted to keep such events private, and Zarek wanted it that way as well. It was bad enough that the whole event with Chris Burden had to play out the way it did, infront of million, but that was entirely Jade's fault, no matter how much she chooses to admit it. Zarek was laying back in his chair a bit now, attempting to regain his composure for the camera. Everything had to appear normal, as if nothing had happened. He held back the anger and the pain, but something was definitely brewing beneath the surface.

"Wow, you really know how to kick a guy when he's down, eh?"

Zarek said to Dillion, assuming he must have seen something. Jade had just left a few short moments ago. He had to have known about the meeting or something, otherwise he wouldn't have known where Zarek was going to be. Zarek turned his gaze to Dillion and looked at him. Dillion actually looked more surprised than anything. Maybe he didn't know anything about it.

"What's that now?"

Hmm...a second look would reveal that Dillion's confusion was actually sincere. Either he really did know nothing about what had just happened, or he really did know, but was pretending as if he didn't. Either way, Zarek took the hint and went on with what was happening. He whiped the serious look off of his face and replaced it with the familiar smile that everyone was used to seeing. He looked around a bit, seeing if Jade was still around somewhere. She was nowhere to be found.

"Nevermind. Let's make this quick, okay? I have some preparing to do..."

Dillion nodded, flashing back a smile. He didn't care if it was quick, he was just happy he got an interview with a participant on the main event, outside of his element, hours before the actual match.

"This has been the question that has been engulfing BUD, and I'm sure you've heard it around. Your perspective on the whole issue hasn't been expressed much, and when you did address it, it wasn't straight forward, so I'm just going to go ahead and say it. You and Jade have been an item off and on, and everyone could tell there might be some chemistry still lingering between you two. Is it going to be awkward going up against your ex-lover tonight? I mean, you're looking for another shot at the title, and she just so happens to be the current number one contender. You two will have to face sometime."

"First of all, Jade is an amazing competitor and I've never said otherwise, despite what some people say. It's always been known that she's way more established than myself, and when she felt like it, she would make her way into the buisness. I'm not sure what prompted her to do so now, but ever since she beat Leaky for the BUDvision title, she's been kicking it up a notch. The wrestling world knew she would apply herself again soon, so it doesn't come as much of a surprise that she's already the number one contender. Will it be awkward? Well yeah, why wouldn't it be? Jade and I have a history that has been seen by the world, there's no denying her. I haven't been on the opposite side of the ring of her in almost a year, but it will definitely be a treat. It's not everyday that you get to go up against a competitor like Jade anyway, wether we have feelings for each other or not. I'm actually surprised management never put us up against each other before. They knew what she was capable of, and they knew where I was in my career. It would have made sense for us to face off and have a showdown that would rock the walls of BUD. I suppose the fact that we were together always kept us safe from having to go up against each other. Well, we're not together now, and in seeing that, I'm guessing management jumped at the chance."

"Now, Jade isn't the only person that you have a history with. You may have the most extensive history with her, but she's definitely not the only one. The other person on the otherside of the ring tonight, her partner Manic, you two have a short history, as well. At the beginning of your career here in BUD, as I remember, you two had a short little fued there. Maybe fued isn't the way to describe it, just a mutual hatred for one another? I remember things got very heated in those promos and the matches were even hotter. So tell me, what's it like knowing that you're finally going to get your hands on your old nemesis?"

"The last time I saw Manic, he was being planted inside a casket by me, with the Apolo's Call, soon to be set on fire. Actually, I believe it was a flaming casket match, so he was being set on fire, come to think of it. After that, he just kind of disappeared, and I pretty much never saw him again. I half expected him to make another run for my title, seeing as I held the BUDvision at that time, and I was ready to take him on. Instead, I got Leaky Format at BUDmania, which definitely wasn't my idea of a perfect opponent. I expected, and wanted, Manic to come back, to want another shot at me. The record is technically tied, and with a tied record, it leaves loose ends. Ha. Tied records equals loose ends. That's good. But look at Drew Stevenson and I, and the tenacity between him and I. So I love the fact that Manic is back, and I'm actually given a worthy opponent in him. This match, well maybe not this match in particular, but a match with manic has been a year in the making, so I am absolutly ecstatic. Please don't mistake my excitement for actual liking of Manic. He's an asshole who needs to be put in his place, but I do respect the guy. He's one of the very few that have gotten a win over me. That list includes Dante Cross, Dannica, and Bobby Johnson. So in all honesty, it's great that he's back, and I think his presence brings up the talent pool in BUD."

"Okay, I know you don't have a lot of time on your hands, so we'll rap this up. Last but not least, there's one more competitor in this little match up between the awesome fouresome, your tag team partner. When the card was first set, it was supposed to be Giant as your tag partner, but that's not exactly the way things worked out. Giant anounced he had to leave due to some medical problem, and a man by the name of Scott Addams came in and rocked things up a bit. Now, we know Giant would have been an awesome addition, but what about this Addams guy? He's definitely got one attitude on him, and he knows how to ruffle some feathers."

"I've already said once before that I'm not sure who the better partner would have been, Giant or Scott Addams. I've heard some things about Giant, but he was a bit to dark for my taste, and his promo where he basically insulted all of the BUD legends. I'm not sure Giant would have been the ideal partner. Then we have Scott Addams with his incredible god complex, that I would love to kick down a few steps. Out of everyone in this match, Scott is the one that I would most likely want to see on the other side of the ring. Scott Addams isn't the type of guy that I could ever see myself getting along with. Not at all. I would like nothing more than to show Scott Addams exactly who is on top of the company at the moment. That may not be yours truly but I'd like to think that I'm somewhere near the top. Scott, however, definitely is not. On the other hand, he is my partner and if I plan on getting the win tonight, then I kind of have to put up with him. I really have no say in the matter of who I team with. I'm normally not a team player, it's not that I can't handle working with someone, it's just that I don't normally do tag team matches. I'm pretty sure everyone has said that already, but it's true. All four of us our singles wrestlers, forced to team with one another. So all of us have to put up with our partner, I can deal with Scott for tonight."

"Well thanks, I know you're a busy man, so I'll let you go do whatever it is that you have to do...and good luck tonight."

Zarek raised from his chair, waved to Dillion and went on his way. What he had said to Dillion before, about preparing, was a complete lie, but he couldn't exactly tell him the truth. The truth was to much for the public to handle, so there was no way he was going to say it on camera. The truth was, Zarek was more ready than ever, and there was no real preparation needed. Even if there was, he would use the minutes before hand to mentally prepare for the match. No, he had something better in mind, something that he needed more than preparation. Someone he needed to confront before the night was over.

There would be no way that Zarek would go out there tonight without saying his peace. Well, not exactly peace. But there would be no way Zarek would go out there tonight without getting a word or two in. Jade had said her words, and Zarek patiently waited for his turn, only to see Jade's backside walking away. Talk about a slap in the face, and an action that Jade knew would only rise the anger in Zarek. There's nothing in the world he hated more than not being able to speak. It didn't matter if Jade wanted to hear it or not. Zarek deserved to explain, and to rebuttle if anything. He wouldn't do it on national television though, no, because they both were into their pirvate lives now. Even though Jade had hurt him so many times, and even though she didn't give a crap about his feelings, he still cared about hers. This is the reason why Zarek decided to confront her in her own element, her locker room. He walked in, seeing her sitting upon the couch. She immediatly got to her feet, surprised, and almost angered.

"Zarek...I thought I told you I didn't want to speak to you anymore..."

Seeing her face was like bringing all of the words back, and throwing them in his face. She was not his favorite person in the world at the moment, and he hated to see her like this. These random moods she would get in, drove him almost to insanity.

"Yeah, you did, but I don't see why you get a chance to speak your peace, while I get a chance to say nothing. It's okay though, because I'm used to it. After knowing you for almost a year, I am honestly used to your tactics. Let's speak down to Zarek as if he was some sort of dog, then I'll walk away, waiting for him to chase me. It's okay Jade, it's what you do. I've realized that long ago. Put Zarek down, and wait for him to crawl back to me. It's your personality, and it's how you play tha game. Whatever. Just let me make one thing clear, I am not here to make ammenda by any means, I'm actually here to set the record straight."

Jade is wide-eyed by now. The last person she expected to see before tonights match was Zarek, and she had even said she didn't want to speak with him. Considering his personality, she didn't expect him to come after her so quick, and say the things to her that he's saying.  She didn't expect him to speak his mind, finally, to the one he used to love.

"First of all, when you told me you still had feelings for me it caught me highly off guard. I had a major match coming up, facing Drew Stevenson in a steel cage match for the World title. Then you decided to drop a bomb on me like that? I already had a lot on my mind, and you knew that. So excuse me for not being able to get my head straight when I'm about to go into quite the biggest match of my career. You know my career means a lot to me, but you still decided to drop it on me. You didn't even wait for me to get myself together, you just assumed I didn't want you around. After Krystmas Kaos Jade, did you see me around New York partying it up with some hot girls? Did you see me cruising around with a broad smile on my face? No. I took that week off and spent that time reflecting. Mostly about what had happened at Krystmas Kaos, but you were always on my mind. The truth is I have always felt the same way, and I know you knew that. Were my subtle hints not enough for you, when we came back to BUD a little over a month ago? Did I not get my point across? You were the one who shot me down, and told me you didn't even want to be friends."

The scene was vivid in his mind, due to the fact that it was the latest heartbreak in the duos history. He had told her that if the two couldn't be together, then he wanted to atleast be friends. Instead of taking the offer, she had turned him down, telling him she didn't even want to be friends. Basically saying she never wanted to speak to him. She put Zarek through a few weeks of hell, and just as it seemed Zarek was getting over her, she popped back into his life, saying she did want to be friends. Being the man he is, he accepted.

"You're right Christina, I did say that, but not in the context that you would have hoped. I've never thought you were behind me, and infact it was YOU who kept telling me YOU were better. If I remember correctly, when I asked you what title you planned on going for, you had no real answer. You told me that you were already experienced, and that you didn't need championships to make yourself look good. Imagine how that made me feel. If anyone, you've always been the demeaning one. I said you're always a few steps behind me, because it feels as if you're following in my path. I won the BUDvision title, and then became the number one contender, where you did the same. I just had a World title match, and you're about to have the same. It wasn't an insulting statement, not by a long shot, though I'm sure you wished it was."

It was just now occuring to Zarek that Jade liked to play with him. He was never her girlfriend, her loved, but more of a play toy that she just kept around. Did she ever really love him? Doubtful. She didn't even tell him about herself until after a few months of dating. He didn't even know she had a daughter until after a few months.

"That's always been how you have worked Jade, nothing I have done has ever been good enough, and you've never kept your mouth shut about it. Everything I've ever said has just not been good enough for Queen Christina Gellar. To think I was even thinking about proposing to you a couple months ago. You know something Jade, you've changed...and you've changed for the worst. You're not the same Jade you were when we first met. The woman loving, caring, individual that you were back then. Where has she gone? I haven't seen her in awhile."

He was something else that she could control, something else that she could test, to see just how much power she had. She liked to play with his feelings, twist and turn him, screw other guys, see if he gets worked up. Maybe break up with him a time or two, see if he comes back. He was an object in her alternate form of reality, and Zarek was finally realzing the woman Jade was. She was a fake. A compulsive liar. She had no one, which is why she came back in the first place. The relationship only really works when she has something to gain from it. Now that she's the number one contender, she cuts him loose.

"Give me a break Jade, and quit it with the drama queen act. You didn't cheat on me with Chris, eh? Yet, I walked in on you straddling him, and you have the nerve to lie to me. Not only did you cheat on me, but you screwed me over, big time. To be truthful, I asked Stephanie to make you the special guest referee because I needed to test you, and I needed to see if you truly cared about me the way I cared about you. I needed to know if Chris meant something to you, or if you still wanted me in your life. If you remember correctly, you refused to count the three, and then left the ring. When the moment happened, I knew you weren't the same person, and I knew you really didn't love me anymore. That's why I am so hesitant in trusting you again Jade, because at that moment...you chose him over me."

Unfortunantly for Jade, she hadn't expected him to fight back, she hadn't expected him to actually seek her out, just so he could be heard. She probably expected him to be crushed, and throw tonights match, or something of that nature. Her intentions were never sincere, and it was up for debate wether or not they ever were. Zarek was fuming, smoke almost coming out of his ears. The epiphany had come at a perfect time, and thanks to Jade, he now had reason to go out there and win this match more than ever.

"Oh, and one more thing. Next time you talk about hurt in front of me, remember, YOU'RE the one who broke MY heart..."

Truer words could never be spoken. It was Jade that brought the pain time and time again, and it was Zarek that always came back to her. It was Zarek that always forgave her, no matter what, each and every time. This was lost on Jade, every single time, and there was only so much one person could take. No matter what happened after this, no matter what happened tonight, or in the future, things would never be the same. As far as Zarek was concerned, Jade would never be the same person he had met that day, he would never again play the games she put him through, he would never crawl back and he would never love her again...

Gone.
