The rain outside made a slight tapping sound against the window. It had been storming ever since Sunday night and there were no signs of it stopping anytime soon. Maybe because 2008 Wayz 2 Die had proved not to be Zarek's night...again. The Heavyweight title was almost on Zarek's shoulder, but he saw it slip away with one reversal. It was apparent that this had happened before, many times actually, though he would never admit to some of them. He had failed twice in a month to capture what his heart desired, and his final opportunity may have finally slipped away. This should have been the first thing on his mind this Sunday afternoon, but it wasn't. For once, he wasn't thinking about Drew Stevenson, Jade, or the Heavyweight title, but he was thinking about the God's of BUD, and their arrogance. They walked back into the Domain, proclaiming themselves Gods, and launching a war upon the new generation. Well, although Zarek has been signed for over a year now, it's nothing compared to some of the veterans that have returned in the past month. It's only natural for Zarek to take offense. Not just to this war launched against him and his kind...the kind that have been year helping BUD out of the gutter...while his kind stayed in the shadows, but also that they would dare to call themselves Gods. How dare they.

"It's been over a year now that I've been the resident God of BUD, and I don't really see anybody on the horizon that would be able to take that title away from me."

The familiar voice sent an echo throughout the empty New York appartment, as Zarek sat on the windowsill and looked at the world below. You could see that something was boiling down inside of him. If you asked, he probably would have said it was Jake Frost and Akasha that was bothering him. That might have been true, but we all know someone doesn't get over a lost opportunity at the title, that easily. It probably didn't help Jake Frost's chances of coming out of this match as the winner. Beating Zarek at his best is one thing, but beating Zarek when he's just come off a huge lose, is another entirely.

"Sure, Drew Stevenson might be able to get me down every once in awhile, but he'll never be able to do what I do. He'll never be considered a god. Even Drew knows I was the only one worthy enough to hold such a title, but apparently there are some people out there that didn't get the memo. Jake Frost and Akasha, obviously didn't realize that BUD already had a god of it's own when they walked back into the Domain. I mean, I can't blame them for not knowing, considering you haven't been around for quite some while. Don't worry, I'll take it easy on you, because you didn't know, and there really was no way of informing you until now. Of course, when they started to perade around BUD calling themselves the 'Gods of BUD' naturally, I had to step up and say something. Of course, this was a crisis. There's obviously more Gods in BUD, then the Domain can handle at one time. More power one place that should be, so the match was made."

He began to trace little designs into the fogged window, as he continued. Zarek had met Jake Frost once before inside of the ring, a triple threat with Leaky Format. Of course, we all know who came out on top of that one. So honestly, is there really any doubt that Zarek will defeat the God of Vengence? Unfortunantly for Jake, he doesn't realize who Zarek is. He's THEE God.

"You can't really call yourself a true champion, Jake. You can't say that you go out there every night and put your heart and soul into it. No, I remember you, Frost. I remember your return and everything. You put everything behind AJ Armstrong, and then turned on him in the end, aligning yourself with Tragedy. Then what? Tell me Frost, then what happened? Oh yeah, your little alliance fell apart when Tragedy started showing up less and less, and you made your in-ring debut. Who was it against again? Hmm...I don't rightly remember who your return match was against. Oh yeah, it was me. After I beat you fair and square, didn't you run off or something? So can you really say that you go out their and put everything on the line? No, and if you claim to do such a thing, then you're simply a liar. Maybe the old Jake Frost did, but the new one, not so much. I've been through the archives a lot since I've been here, and we both know your name pops up a lot. What happened to that guy? Did you start calling himself a God and got his ass beat by someone who didn't like it? You mentioned that my ego gets in the way of me becoming a true god of BUD. Ha, try again Jake, because now you're just talking out your ass. Infact, everyone who knows me, everyone in BUD knows that I don't even think too highly of myself from time to time. I've stated many times that I'm only arrogant against people that have proved nothing in the industry, yet claim to be everything. People like Leaky Format, Evan Pierce, you."

Pulling a ciggerette out of his front pocket, he lit up and took a puff. He normally wasn't a smocker but in the past month he had started up again. Ever since that tag match, up until this washed up Jake Frost. Legend or not, Zarek wouldn't fall victim to a self-proclaimed "God". It's just that simple. Besides, it's not like Zarek had never put a legend in his place before. There's been plenty of others. Go through the archives sometime. Legend killer? No, that's lame, Orton can keep that.

"Let's get one thing straight Jake, I don't call myself a God. That would be lame. I didn't wake up one day and decide to proclaim myself as a God. No, I left that up to people like yourself and Akasha to do. People who try to be me. I worked my way up through the ranks. Blood, sweat, tears, sacrificing myself week in and week out. The fans are the ones that proclaimed me a God. You and Akasha on the other hand, are self-proclaimed. It's cute, really. You both walk in after absences and think yourselves to be Gods. I mean, I salute you for your attempt, but you should have checked if anyone else held that title before you declared yourself one. The fact that I am a God, doesn't come from my accomplishments. It helps, but I am a God because that's how great I am. I put everything on the line to listen to those fans cheer, and I mostly always come out on top. I don't want to use the word worship, but I will. I do what I do because of them, and they honor me with their cheers. In the eyes of the fans, I am a God."

Being dubbed a God beats randomly proclaiming yourself one, I would think.

"From your own mouth, what makes a God is the fact that he has strength, he has followers, and he grants strength to those who seek to be in his favor. Your only example of your 'divine power' was the case of AJ Armstrong. But you see, I beg to differ. You gave him your own strength, eh? Well, maybe, but only if you don't possess that much strength. AJ Armstrong went on somewhat of a losing streak if I remember, and made it to the number one contendership to the BUDvision title by a stroke of luck. Even without your help, Tragedy would have beaten him anyway. So don't flatter yourself on the AJ Armstrong case, even with your so called strength, he never had that much talent. On the other hand, when you look at me, I have strength. I have competed under the most extreme conditions, and you have even admitted to that Jake. I have followers. Hell, Scott Addams, Drew Stevenson, and even you have referred to me as a King. Thanks for that, but sitting idle on top of a thrown isn't my deal. Then there's granting strength to those who seek to be in my favor. Well, take Jade for example. She has been by my side ever since the third week I've been in this company. Not only has she captured the BUDvision, but she also just competed for the Heavyweight title, alongside yours truly. Mr. Armstrong wouldn't even be able to capture the BUDvision, let alone become number one contender to the heavyweight."

He stands up from the windowsill but points at the window. There, written in the frost, is Jake Frost's name, followed by Akasha, Scott Addams, and Drew Stevenson. Some sort of hitlist? Maybe.

"In conclusion, this whole divine act you're trying to pull, just isn't going to work. Next time you declare war, take a look at the otherside..."

Gone.
