Monday I will become Mama to a lovely M2 named Truffles. I am so excited. Too2 e-mailed me on Thursday about an e-mail she had recieved about a guy in the Houston area who needed to rehome some birds. I didn't get to speak to him till Sat. and we talked several more times and he is bringing her to me on Monday. He has several macaws and she is very demanding and he simply doesn't have the time. He also rehomed 3 or 4 others. This is just the nicest guy. He can't come on Sun. because the little Illigers macaw is moving to Ok and he's meeting her new Mama in Dallas. He's already taken one of them to Austin. He really cares more about where these birds go than getting a lot of money. She comes with a cage and 2 playgrounds. I explained about the noise issues I've delt with in the past and done pretty well, and after several conversations and he talked it over with his wife, he decided to let me have her. Thank God I live in the country.LOL

I'm still not giving up on Gails little BE2.  I've called everyone I know trying to find Ken. I even called my brother in Pasadena because Ken had done some work for him and I thought he could have a way to reach him. No luck there. I'll just have to keep trying. Meanwhile I'll be getting a place made for Truffles. I'll be so glad to get this computer thing worked out so I can post pics.
 Peggy

When will you move your bed out to the storage building?
Congrats. You best get at the computer learning and picture taking. Or we'll all show up on your doorstep some day and you'll be sorry.

Awww Congrats Peggy!
I have a weakness for those big Pink Chickens too!! I think the name is perfect for one too. It 's so great when I hear that someone is taking in a rehomed bird. I'm about half and half here of getting some as babies and taking in ones that needed a home.

Living in the country is a big plua when it comes to having birds. Because even though mine don't hollar all the time they can let you know they are there too lol

Please take lots of pics. We all get so excited when people on here get a new bird lol It's almost like it happens to all of us! Nan

Thanks for all the good wishes. I didn't really know what a Truffles was and Too2 told me it's a dessert made with pudding, strawberries and whipped cream so that's a good name for an M2.

Ah, where to put a 40+30in cage. Since the birds will be in the aviary in the day time (when it's completed) I can make room in the kitchen for a couple of cages. It's perfectly safe because I don't cook. I'll bring them in when I get home, let them have their playtime and then nite, nite. It will take a little time to work it out, but we'll do it.

Now Annie and Dale, I visions if hearing a loud knocking on my door and I open it to find all these travel weary ladies on my front porch. You would be welcome of course. I did talk to the computer guy in town (we only have one) and he said for me to bring the camera in and he would teach me how to use it. I'm going to try to do that next week. I have a pic of Gail with Sugar on her shoulder, right after I got her and I want to make sure that one isn't lost. Then you will all be tired of all the pics.

Nan, this will for the 1st time give me more rehomed birds than babies I raised for myself. I've decided the rehomed ones some times appreciate me more than the ones I've raised. This computer is driving me nuts and I'm off to bed.
