According to this article, You are not allowed to drive a car on the Sabbath. Wonder if Beffers does.  Tweety

Sabbath Prohibitions

The restrictions on work are more strict for the Sabbath than for other holidays that prohibit work. Leviticus 23:3 commands the Jews to "do no manner of work" on the Sabbath, whereas Leviticus 23:7 requires them to "do no manner of servile work" on the festivals. The general interpretation of the latter is that work can be done on the festivals if it contributes to the enjoyment of the festival and could not have been done beforehand. Thus baking bread or grinding fresh coffee is allowed on the festivals, but not on the Sabbath.

The rabbis who wrote the Talmud established 39 categories of work that cannot be performed on the Sabbath according to the Hebrew Bible. These include cooking, washing clothes, constructing, repairing, writing, making a fire, cutting, fishing, and so on. They also added several other activities that could lead to violating the Sabbath - for instance, one should not climb a tree on the Sabbath to avoid breaking a twig and violating the rule not to cut.

Over the last century, rabbis have had to figure out how to apply the ancient laws to modern inventions. They have decided that, for instance, one cannot drive on the Sabbath because it involves both moving an object and igniting the fuel, both of which are prohibited. Because Jews attend synagogue services on the Sabbath, this explains why Jewish communities are often clustered in a small area and within walking distance of a synagogue.

As with all other aspects of Jewish law, different Jews observe the Sabbath prohibitions to different degrees. While Orthodox Jews often set their lights on timers and unscrew the lightbulbs in their refrigerators on the Sabbath, most Conservative Jews wouldn't worry about lights and feel comfortable driving to the synagogue as well. Many Reform Jews ignore the restrictions entirely, but might try to attend the Friday night Sabbath service.

The Sabbath restrictions do not prohibit everything that takes effort. On the contrary, Jews are encouraged to play games, take a stroll, study the Torah, sing, attend lectures, or make love with their spouse on the Sabbath. It is work that is forbidden on the Sabbath - play is encouraged.

and where did this junk come from?  surely not from the Word of God.  They just say what suits them.

MOSES, THE LAW GIVER forbade even going out of their door.  how in this world can they drive to a synogogue if they don't go out their door?  and driving is work.

getting dressed up is work.

God forbid them to find their own pleasure on this day.  He said in Isaiah, that this is one of the reasons that he disregarded their trying to keep sabbath, because they found their own pleasure on that day....(don't have my Scripture opened up, so will not look that up for now,  anyone wishing to confirm it,  look it up for yourself.)

am fixing to go to bed, so not going to bring it up.

but am saying this does away with the lie that they can make love on that day.  It is forbidden.  It is also work.  may be pleasure, but it is also work.

so much for their changing God's word to suit themselves!!!

No,  I say loud and clear,  none of them keep it......and none of them wish to keep it....not God's way.  so it is a lie and a deception and a false thing they teach.

If they were truly forced to keep it according to the LAW GIVER, MOSES, they would cut their own heads off!!
Then beffers could not slander us anymore.  he would have to stop breaking one of those ten, which he freely breaks daily, and dearly loves breaking........THOU SHALT NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS AGAINST THY NEIGHBOR.

white so deceived them, that they think  having fun on Saturday is the only 'command' which God pays attention to!!

Freeborn:
For someone who doesn't even believe in the 4th Commandment, you sure like to critize alot about it.  What does the 4th commandment say??
Exd 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy

God says to...REMEMBER IT..and to keep it holy.  You are just like the Jews who want to add all sorts of rules and regulations on it.  If God didn't want us to move a finger on the Sabbath day..he would have said so on the Commandment. But he DIDN'T.

Remembering it and acknowledging that it is HIS SABBATH DAY is pretty much keeping it holy. There is nothing wrong with going to church. I know you are against that because you don't go to church at all.  I find it very edfying to meet with other believers and study God's word on a Sabbath afternoon day.

It's nice to relax from all the daily routines of the week. It's a nice break. Too bad you can't find it in your heart to stop fighting God's Sabbath and just take a break from your daily routines of the week.  Spend the day praying or studying.  If you do that EVERYDAY fine.

I like how God tell us to go and do all our work during the 6 days of the week and to just take a break on the 7th day. God's Sabbath day isn't bondage or grievous or any of those negative things people who don't believe in it say.  Jesus said..."The Sabbath was made for man...". God knows we need that break in the week. Jesus also said..."....not man for the Sabbath".  Meaning that man has no authority over it.  Either we believe in God's 4th Commandment or we don't.  Let God judge.

It's just sad how people spend so much time teaching against it as if Satan himself was the one who gave it to us.  It's GOD'S SABBATH. Just the fact that it belongs to God, you think people would have a little respect for it.

My son laughs and says.."it's as if people think if you observe the Sabbath day..that you have to sit on a chair with an oxygen mask in a room with the lights out"...LOL!!

Dovey,  God is the one who said,  DO NOT GO OUT FROM YOUR PLACE.  It is GOD'S WORD,  mock it all you wish,  you are mocking God,  not me.

I am the one saying what God said.  I am the one teaching God's TRUTH.

You and all so-called 'adventist'  are a mockery to the living God and his laws and his grace.  You are a mockery to BOTH.

Saturday is NOT GOD'S SABBATH.  HOW MANY TIMES MUST I TELL YOU THIS?

It is total IGNORANCE of God's Holy Word to say that it is.

going to church on that 'weekly sabbath', is rebelling to how God said to do it.  It was MOSES who told how to keep it, not me.  I only give you what Moses said.

Why do you refuse to read the books of Moses and see that it was Moses who gave them,  DO NOT START A FIRE.  It was not some rabbis as Dake said.  It was Moses.

It was not Pharisees who said, do not go out your door, do not pick up a stick......it was MOSES, GIVING THEM WHAT GOD TOLD HIM.

Now you can mock this and lie all you wish,  but since you put your own self back under LAW,  YOU WILL BE JUDGED BY THAT LAW.

Man may say, it was only the way it was administered, all they wish,  but God did not say that.  How was it administered?  Tell me that.

Paul did not teach over and over,  do no go by the way it was administered, if you do you fall from grace.

He said, if you go back to law, you fall from grace.
You must never read the Word of God.

I have told you,  that 4th commandment is not God's sabbath.  Jesus was not speaking about the LAW SABBATH.  He did not live by that.  he gave us GRACE, TAUGHT US GRACE, AND LIVED BY GRACE.

yOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT GRACE.

But the pity of it is that when you think you must live by the Law of moses, old covenant,  you are DISOBEYING GOD'S COMMANDMENTS.

God's commandments are the words spoken by JESUS CHIRST,  NOT BY MOSES.

Jesus did not teach what you are saying.  Read Matt. 5 and M. 10, for some of God's COMMANDMENTS, WHICH ALL CHRISTIANS MUST LIVE BY.

Certainly grace is not telling us to disobey God's commandments, and grace people do not disobey. (bet you do xmas?  that is breaking all of God's commandments.  how bout easter?  same old idol worship)

It is law keepers who disobey, all the time.
You even disobey the way law says to keep your sabbath.  you would not do it the law way for anything on earth.

Your church is a disgrace to God and his commandments.
You deny them, and pretend you keep them.  what a hypocrite you all are!!

You flat REFUSE THE TRUE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD AND PRETEND YOU ARE THE KEEPERS.  WHAT AN INSULT TO   GOD and his holiness you all are.

You do not even know that Jesus is God's SON.  You have no understanding at ALL AND WANT NONE.

I once though you might be a sincere person ..  but now I know you are NOT, all you want is to mock the truth of God, with your fake  'COMMANDMENT KEEPING'.  If you had to keep God's true commandments, you would probably commit suicide.

That ten commandment LAW is not God's COMMANDMENTS.  Jesus' words is  GOD'S COMMANDMENTS, AND THEY ARE LIFE.

Moses law is not life.  it is DEATH.   YOU ARE UNDER   DEATH, AND A CURSE.

YOU HAVE NO TRUTH AND WANT NONE.

You know nothing about GRACE OR GOD'S COMMANDMENTS.

Believing in God's Commandments is not the same as saying that I think I'm perfect.

My imperfection does not make God's Commandments void. The problem does not rest on God's perfect Commandments.
The problem rests on humanity's disobedience (carnal mind)...which God tells us is at emnity (against) the Commandments of God.

Jesus didn't come to invent a new law.  Jesus came to teach the true intent of that same law.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

"Fulfill" does not mean destroy. Jesus wasn't contradicting Himself. It was prophecied that the Messiah would come to teach the true intent of God's Commandment.Isa 42:21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make [it] honourable.

Loving God with our whole mind and heart...and...Loving our fellowman as are self...are NOT NEW commandments.  Jesus said...Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets

Which has been pointed out  that Jesus DID NOT ..."....come to destroy.....but .."to fufil"   Fulfill=magnify...which is what was prophecied in Isaiah 42:21.

I hope you can see that I don't need to bash, attack or belittle the person whom I'm discussing with in order to make a point.

The only points you are making is that you do not understand the difference in the Commandments of God and the law of Moses.

One is life. the other is death.  Jesus fulfilled the entire law of God.  He did not live under the law of Moses.  He lived under the commandments of God.
That is why he was not bound by that law.

He was keeping the Holy Commandments of God.  He was baptized, which has nothing at all to do with the law of MOses.

I have never said that Jesus invented a new law.  He gave us God's commandment, which is eternal.  Have you no knowledge that the word of God said  that the LAW WAS  430     YEARS    AFTER   ABRAHAM AND THE COVENANT WHICH GOD GAVE TO ABRAHAM?

Then this solidly proves that the LAW WAS AFTER ABRAHAM,  AND IS NOT GOD'S COMMANDMENT.

gOD GAVE aBRAHAM a covenant which is NOT THE LAW OF MOSES, WHICH IS THE OLD, DECAYRED COVENANT OF LAW.

I am attacking your false religion.  I am sent of God to attack this and all other false religions, which parade around as false christians, deceiving and being deceived.

I once though you might be a sincere person, who could be helped.  I see now that you are not.  You are willfully deceived and are being used by satan to deceive others.

I do not attack and bash or what-ever you internet folks wish to call CORRECTING AND REBUKING FALSE DOCTRINE AND TEACHERS.

But that is a  COMMANDMENT FROM OR OF GOD...TO REBUKE AND EXHORT.

Every word of God is his COMMANDMENT,   AND YOU ARE SO DECIEVED THAT YOU THINK HIS COMMANDMENT DOES NOT SAVE YOU,  YET YOU MUST OBEY IT.

That is the height of silliness and foolishness.  I am rebuking your false doctrine.  I do not appologize for it, nor am I intimidated by your accusing words.

The law which Jesus magnified and made honourable was not the law of Moses.  He did not go that much against the Scriptures.

There is no way  under the sun that you can bring the Word of God together and make the law of moses be anything but death and darkness.  Jesus did not give us LAW.  THE WORD SAID THE LAW CAME BY MOSES.

Jesus gave us the commandments of God.  that is not the law of moses, else it is nothing but confusion and double talk.

You will never make me accuse God of confusion and double talk/

It is you deceived teachers who are confused and doing the double talk.

We must obey law, but it cannot save us..but we must obey it or sin....yet we know we sin...yet we are not perfect, lllllbut we must not sin....we must not disobey, for that is sin...but we are not perfect.....???/what?

double talk or what?

Did Jesus give us the commandments of God or not?  Is his words spirit and life or not?  Did the Word say that to go back to LAW is to fall from GRACE or not?  do you have any idea?

Because you do not know the difference in LAW   AND GOD'S COMMANDMENT,  YOU ARE IN MASS CONFUSION AND DARKNESS........JUST AS THE JESUS ONLY FOLKS ARE IN MASS CONFUSION AND DARKNESS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE MEANING OF THE WORD......ONE.

You have been SUBTILY bashing me and belittling me in every post.  Others may not see it, but I see it.

You are of the devil, or subtility.  I am not subtile.  I speak OPENINGLY as did Jesus.

Everytime you have slung at me,   " to whosoever you yeild your selves members to obey, his servants you are to whom you obey.   ........and......we do not disobey.......we keep the commandments......you are not keeping the commandments.......and all such statements,  were subtily bashing and accusing me of sin.

I am not stupid.  Even if others are taken in with your sleek tongue,  I am not.  I see through your kind of subtilty every day.  I deal with your kind  every day.  and I am made to look like the evil one, because I speak OPENINGLY.

yOU ARE teaching lies and error and I am attacking your lies and error.

So now what are you going to accuse me of NEXT?

go right ahead.  God keeps me ahead of you at all times.  You cannot tear down his TRUTH WHICH HE HAS SO GRACIOUSLY GIVEN TO ME.
