Remember the school bully? Perhaps you were one yourself or knew one. Should we pity the school bully? ignore him? |

It's only when one is an adult and reflects on the days gone by that one can pity the bully in lots of ways. They are the losers, and often end up in more trouble. |

I guess I was lucky. Never really had a bully in school. In h.s. it was the in crowd or the others. |

My schools had a school bully or two. I was never bothered by one but saw enough happening. I chose to ignore the bully so it wouldn't give me any grief. As an adult I see that it probably was the best choice considering I was just a kid. I learned that the bullys I knew of had such horrible home life issues and I did feel bad for them. They became "bullies" as a defense mechanism. I always wondered how they turned out. |

I think we've all been acosted by a bully one way or the other. My X could say the cruelest things to keep me toeing the line ... You're stupid , you're fat, you're lazy and on and on. And yes I think the bullies of the world usually stem from their own insecurties. Karen |

I agree with Karen, most bullies are insecure. |

In the early grades, before 6th, a bully poked his finger into my chest. I did not have developed breasts, but to this day I cringe at the thought of being poked in the breast. |

That's funny! I used to get paid to beat up bullies. So , I guess I would not ignore them or pity them. I do not like bullies to this very day! |

I taught my kids to defend themselfs not to start it.... I think a bully is one who has insecruties and does not know how to show any other feelings but to hurt others.... |
