Hey all, A quick follow up from my appt in Reno yesterday. The cancer shows that it has shrunk considerably. It is also shows necrosis in the middle of it which is an indicator that the lesion is pretty much dead. The oncologist feels that surgery should be the next direction to follow. I have a surgical consult for Monday the 20th. Now, the reason the doctor gives for the surgery is that the cancer is dying (or just about dead) and it would be better to remove the cancer from the body so that it has less chance of coming back to "life." This would be followed by a few more chemo treatments to make sure that any "floaters" from the surgery would be eradicated. So, in short, this looks like the next stage of what will be happening with me. I will know more Monday after talking with the surgeon. |

thanks for keeping us posted ... keep us posted more ... your positive post is what makes your post positive ... you are in our thoughts ... sounds like those in the medical field who are working with you are making good decisions, and that is so good, too ...

I sure hope they get it all out and that there are no more cancer cells roaming around inside you. I dread the chemo for you but maybe it will do the job and you will be cancer free. Hugs, Looneybird |

Am back from Reno. It basically was a waste of time today seeing the surgeon I was in and out of his office in 10 minutes. First I need to have a pulmonary test done...he ordered it STAT and the earliest they can see me is Oct 28th. Then I go back to see the surgeon on Nov 17th. At this rate I will not know what is really happening until around Thanksgiving or Christmas! adair |

I'm sure you felt it was a waste of time, I would too. You should be getting free flyer-miles with all the trips you're taking. God Bless you dear -- keep fighting the fight ... Karen |

What a let down for you. I can't imagine how a doctor can order stat Pulmonary tests and you can't get in until the 28th! |

What a bunch of BS. I am sorry for all your delay. I know the waiting is hard on you. Is there anyone in the office you can talk to to make them understand how you feel and speed this along faster? |
