Would some brilliant person have any idea where the name Haylen NALLION would have come from?
He would have been born in the late 1700's as he had a daughter Mary NALLION born 1819 where?  who married a John BYRON (place of marriage not known) and this couple then lived in australia
she died in 1904 in new south wales
What I am trying to find out is where the surname NALLION would have come from
any ideas?
thanks..........Liz

Mike,  Many thanks for this site.  Unfortunately this site has been taken off line quite a while ago for privacy reasons and you can no longer contact anyone listed.  Removing it caused no end of problems and people were very angry and it was a good resource

Haylen NALLION is a very rare name here in australia and I thought it would be easy to find something but I was not able to

Thanks for thinking of me on this one.   Hope you are well

Liz

Liz i have a small theory on The name there were 2 possibilities.
First i Found one name Similar
Neilan Thomas Drumman Westmeath  The second was the Name Nally

Because of Marys Brougue The name could well have been one of the Above
I think more the First,Because most of these people were Not Able to read or Write. They were unable to Say if the Name was Correct.
I have not seen The Neilan Name Anywhere else Other than Westmeath.
The First Family Names would Also have been recorded. There And who Knows How some of These Submitters Would have Wrote these Names.
I feel Also the Marriage took place in Aus.

As it says John was in the Military Born in East India.

Hi Liz i think even i Got this Wrong.Take a look at This

FROM: Angela Byron
My husband is descended from John Byron (b. 1827 East India d. 1902 Neill's Creek, Hoskingtown) who married Mary Hallian (b. 1850 Ireland d. 1904 Bungendore) also variously listed as Halion/Haylan/Haylin/Heylen. Mary had a brother Patrick who married Bridget; they are both buried in the Bungendore cemetery. I have not been able to find the parents of John Byron. John's brother in law Thomas burnt down his haystack in 1864 and John was accused of stealing sheep from a Thomas Flynn in 1885. I am particularly interested in information on the Byrons as I have not been able to find much at all.
Other names local to the Gundaroo area are:
Henry Cockburn (1829-1883) and Helen Murray (1832-1884) in association with Arthursleigh. In fact, My husband, his father, his grandfather, g.grandfather and g.g.grandfather all lived and worked at Arthursleigh at some point in time.
We would love to hear from anyone who knows of these people. I can send a gedcom with all the above etc listed.
Angela Byron, Harrow, VIC. Ph 03 5588 1338

 Death:
 Burial:

Parents:
  Father:  JAMES HAILEN  Family
  Mother:  MARY DUNNE
Now i Found someone else looking For that Family

FROM: Dianne
I am tracing my family history and would appreciate any info on the HAYLAN (has been misspelt on some docs as HAYLEN, HAYLON or HAYLIN) families who lived in the Bungendore district.
Patrick HAYLAN (b.1814 Ireland, d 1857) and his wife Bridget (b.1816 Ireland, d.1884) are buried together in the Bungendore cemetery. They had at least six or seven children - Bridget, James, Mary and Thomas (my lineage). The other children's names are not known.
Thomas married Elizabeth (Elisa) Long (b.1837 Ireland) in Goulburn in 1854 and had thirteen children from 1854 through to 1879 - Patrick, John, Eliza, Bridget, Thomas, Catherine, Agnes, Maria (my lineage), Frederick, James, David, Mary Ann (or just Anne) and Jane.
I am also interested in Louisa Mary HAYLAN, 7 years, died 9.10.1885 in Gunning and buried in Gundaroo. I think she could be related to the Haylan family buried in Bungendore Cemetery but I don't know the connection.
Any info please contact Dianne
