Hey people. i just really felt compelled to write about ibogaine here. I did Ibogaine 2 years ago for methadone (i was also shooting dope and coke and i ate benzoes like candy) and the ibogaine worked! Nothing else ever did for me. This stuff is amazing, unlike anything else i ever tried. I lay down for 2 very strnge days of dreaming and i never got sick, and when i got up my habit was broken. I wasnt sick. I never got sick. Stranger still I wasnt craving and i wasnt depressed. I really felt like i had myself back for the 1st time in 7 years. I felt like the pre dope me. To me this stuff was pretty much a miricle. I have alot of friends who have also gotten off of dope and methadone successfully with this stuff . Hey Chris- Welcome to this site, it's open to pretty much everyone and anyone who's lives have been affected by dope. But having said that, it strikes me that you're basically advertising for an ibogaine treatment center. If you've read the posts here you know that a number of us have tried ibogaine and are familiar with it. I've taken it several times myself, and while it did completely eliminate withdrawal symptoms, I was back to using within a month each time. I know at least 30 - 40 people who've done ibogaine and of those, only 3 or 4 have stayed clean for more than a couple of months. And most research shows that while it is probably the best way to detox, it's long-term success has not been terribly effective. I feel bad writing this cuz I'm actually a huge supporter of ibogaine (read my posts), but it is definitely NOT a miracle drug and I think you're making some misleading statements about it. You appear to be associated with a group that provides ibogaine treatment and basically it seems to me that you're running an advertisement for it. With all due respect, Marco |

One other (important) point: ibogaine does NOTHING for a benzo habit! To imply that it can cure a benzo habit is, in my opinion, extremely dangerous. It also has no beneficial effect at all for people on coke or crack- it acts on completely different receptors and neurotransmitters in your brain. thanks to Marco for helping - its hard when you come to this board looking for help (which is pretty much what i do) and are unsure. People shouldnt post 'miracle' cures cause there arent any. I wish Bupe was but i'm thinking its not .... |

Good point, it really looks like an add for some co. manufacturing Ibogaine, but that aside, here's some facts from the different message boards of this kind. Some people swear that it' did miracles for them, like, no cravings at all, few days of nice sleep and absolutely no w/d symptoms at all, while others say that it was hell , worse w/d then any, ever and generally feeling so bad that they regreted it for the rest of their lives. So it seems that it works for some, and for the others...well, it made them feel like s..t. Anyways, that's just my two cents on the subject, 'cause I felt compelled to provide different point of view, from others' expiriences. Be careful, it's not yet tested for these purposes. You will find numerous of methods some sounding like something from the
twilight zone and some has some questionable validity on the surface but if
someone kicked by eating a truck load of popcorn staying on their head for three
days then I say that was a great method for you ,but I wouldn't go ahead and
open up a clinic using this method but I would respect a person's choice and it
is great if it worked for that individual.
I know the individual that was involved in the Ibogaine study and I know he
used it some decades ago and I know a couple of people that also used
it and they are both on either methadone or bup, I have read the report, I
understand their theory but I would never use it not at this stage of my life
maybe in my young and wild years I might have given it a try only because I
would of tried almost anything back in the day. All I can say is read up on it
do your research and come to your own conclusion. I don't think it will ever be
accepted as a legitimate practice in this country anytime soon.
