Hey Mel;
I'm not doing anything with these folks till we get a response from Janice--hopefully one with a little more clarification. This is a good point to make with all you folks who have posted your brickwalls. Make sure you provide data, to the best of your knowledge, that answers the questions: WHO, WHEN and WHERE. We're good but we ain't mindreaders (not even Mel (LOL)).
Cheers, Wayne |

I found a few William Letterman entries in Ancestry.com but no info to tie them to the william that is listed here. Like Melody and Wayne, I agree, with out something other than a name it is really hard to pin point. If you want this team to spend time looking for your brick wall then it is imperitive that you go to the Brick Walls List in the left column and push add item and fill out as much information to the form as possible. Look at the others posted there and use them as an example. It will make our looking up your brick wall a more pleasant experience. We like helping you, it brings us pleasure in doing it. Hi Folks;
Using the data that Mel found in the 1920 records, I did some searches at Genealogy.com. I did find some good stuff but I suspect it's probably wasted since we haven't heard a peep from Janice--I assume she's no longer reading her IKK mail. Anyway, here goes. The first 3 entries are a series of e-mails talking about Troula or Troopa (aka Toni) Letterman. The correspondents are obviously relations of Janice. Although dates don't match names in the family trees, most of this family's uncommon given names appear in them--especially in the Amos tree. That's it for what its worth, Cheers Wayne
Posted by: Brenda Space July 12, 2001 Looking for info on Toni Letterman's family. She was accidentally killed, Jan. 24, 1938 in Pineville, McDonald County, MO. She is buried in Pineville Cemetery. She was married to Sherman Burleson, at the time of death, and lived in Skaggs Hollow, six miles southeast of Pineville. She was 23 years old when she died.

Re: Locate Letterman Toni Posted by: Brenda Space February 10 2002 Hi Joyce, so sorry I have been unable to recive my e-mail untill today. Thanks for responding to my message. Toni Letterman, was the mother of my Aunt Nadine, who married my Uncle Norman Hughes. They had four children. All but one still live in the Miami,Ottawa County, Oklahoma area. Toni's husband, Sherman Burleson is still alive, and lives in Wyandotte, Oklahoma with his third wife. I interviewed him a couple of years ago. The story goes, that Toni was handing a rifle to her husband thru a barn door, when the gun went off. I have a photocopy of the newspaper artical. My mother and I went to the cemetery where Toni is buried last Summer, and found the headstone. My uncle say's he put it on a long time ago. Please e-mail me at <[email protected]> I will be happy to exchange any info I have with you. I live in Texas, but am from Joplin, MO. and have relatives in Miami, OK. and Joplin. So I do visit that area a lot. Thanks again, Brenda
