Hi Folks;
Our next brickwall was posted by Holly Moscarello on 30 Sep 2002. She's had a lot of responses since then and may no longer need our help with this one.
Holly, are you still out there and do you still need our help with this brickwall?
Cheers, Wayne
From: Hollymosc (Original Message) Sent: 9/30/2002 9:59 PM My grandfather, Henry John Dom, born 7/22/1887 in Chicago, died 2/14/1980 in Park Ridge, Il served in the Army during WWI. According to my mother, he was part of a group that entertained the troops, but was definitely in the Army ( we have pictures of him in uniform). I have tried to find any military records online showing when he served, where, etc. without success. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Okay folks;
Its been 3 days since I posted Holly's queries and we haven't heard anything from her so its on to the next brickwall.
I notice that, since Janie updated the Brickwall Bd, an e-mail from kido (Lynne) actually predates Holly's request. Kido's initial message reads as follows:
From: kido (Original Message) Sent: 9/28/2002 8:15 PM I am looking for a Lodema Bentley Shelley and am hitting a brick wall but I am wondering if anyone heard of a Woman's Relief Corps. She belonged to it and traveled all over the states to meetings while she was alive. Any ideas? Kido
Lynne, since some of our members have already responded to this request it'd be nice if you could update us on it. Do you still need the data you originally asked for? If so, please restate with as much Who, When and Where as you can possibly provide.
Again, if we don't hear from Lynne w/in 3 days we go on to the next Brickwall. I'll also send a note to Lynn's personal account.
Cheers, Wayne

So sorry I haven't responded to this and hoping i haven't wasted anyone's time. I have given up temporarily on trying to get military info on Henry John Dom. I need to get a copy of his death certificate to send to the archives and haven't had the time to do that. I was also told in their initial response to me that many of the records have been lost. Thanks, but please feel free to skip over this topic for the brainstorming board if you haven't already. I'm not home enough at this time of year to be able to respond. Thanks for everyone's time... |

I am sorry I haven't replied to this sight. I have been
busy with my husbands cancer treatments and my MS
that i didn't get to be on to long. I have turned all this
over to my son to straighten out as my brain was out
of it for awhile. Yes I am still looking but looking on
the Shelley side mostly as Lodema husband has been
a stop to see who his Mom and Dad was. Sorry KIDO

Dearest Kido, My step-father is recovering from lung cancer and my mother has had MS since I was 9 years old. If you ever just need an ear to bend or want to chat. Please feel free to email me. Sometimes I know it helps just to talk to someone that understands what it is that you go through. Always, DaLynn |
