Thank you Melody. Yes they did wind up in Elmwood and Yates City Illinois. This confirms what I have -I didn't know he was in the war for independance. I thought that was his father also Thomas. However I have no record of his wife. Incedently I found a cousin who is a decendent of Mathew De Ford. She sent me a picture of John and Mathew, but ufortunately not of their brother George who I desend from. Colind4 |

I been researching the Allison's and traced my family line to NY. Benjamin Allison, b. 1784, is the first family member of my Allison family to arrive in Pike Co., IL. Through research, I found that Benjamin Allison was my great-great-great-great grandfather twice, he's through 2 family lines. The project wants male Allison/Ellison's to get a DNA test to see if there is a genetic connection between the Joseph Allison and Lawrence Ellison/Allison lines. I have not found a connection to either Joseph or Lawrence in my family. Dee Dee |

I received a message in my junk mail folder the other day that was deleted, not realizing it was for this board (the subject merely said "Message for Jan"). I believe the message was from Colin D4. With 2200 members here I can't possibly remember everyone's name (or nickname) and it's impossible to know if an e-mail message is related to the IKK unless it's noted in the subject line. Please - when writing to the managers, put a reference to IKK in the subject line so that your messages don't get deleted without opening. We all have our filters set to exclusive and only messages from those on our safe lists will be delivered to our inboxes. Members of the IKK are not automatically put on our safe lists and therefore any e-mail sent to us would go into our junk mail folders. When seeing IKK in the subject line of a message we would know to open it. Also, any messages intended for the boards should be sent directly to the boards, not to the managers, for posting. Thanks for helping us to help you to get more out of the IKK! |

Hi Rosetta,
My Ellison family is from Norway. My father was first generation american born in Brooklyn. His first grade report card had his name spelled Elliassen. I don't think we would be related through that side of the family. On the other side my grandfather was a lanterman. There were a good many of them and I am not sure where they settled at. I think Bloomington but not sure. I I am also related to the Hoovers but do not know when they move from Virginia to Illinois. My Gr, Gr, Grandfather was born in Virginia in the late 1700's. If you can help with any of that I would appreciate it.
