Hello: I have a request of 2 obit look-ups. If someone is able I would appreicate this !!! Since I am not sure of the exact date, I did find 3, one of which I researched and found not to be my GrUncle. So this leaves 2. William Sturges (not sure if he had a middle name). The 2 dates I have are: William E Sturges 1943-08-07: Mc Henry-Woodstock. William Sturges: 1948-09-08: Cook, Chicago. His parents were: Emanuel & Margaret Sturges. My GrGrGrandparents which proceed him in death. As probley did several of his siblings. He was married to a May Birdie Hansen Wright. From what I just found out they married 3 times. May later married a Mr. Vickers. They had one daughter together, Mabel Sturges. Mabel married twice, first to Otto Koplin, in 1935, then in 1945 to John Backs. Mabel had 2 daughters. His sister Mary Elizabeth Sturges married my GrGrandfather Samuel Allen. Mary Allen did not die till 1947. So depending on the correct date, some of this info should corrolate. I do so appreicate any and all help. Kind reguards, Martha in CA [email protected]

Death Certificates after 1947 are not available in the Archives Reference Room. However for this one you mention: STURGES WILLIAM E M/W UNK 0000250 1943-08-07 MCHENRY WOODS You can have Molly look it up for you to see if this is the correct fellow for you. She has found obituaries with death certificates also. Molly is very reasonable in her fees and quick. I cannot tell you what she is charging now because I know the cost of travel has gone up. Put some sort of noticable wording in the subject line. I believe you would be able to order the other death certificate from Cook County. Then try for an obituary from there. Death Certificates The Cook County Clerk's office keeps official records of deaths that occur in Chicago and suburban Cook County. Under state law, you may legally obtain a copy of a death certificate if you are a relative or can prove a financial interest in an individual's death. Requesting a death certificateTo obtain a death certificate, you must: | Write us Mail your request to: Cook County Clerk David Orr Bureau of Vital Statistics P.O. Box 642570 Chicago, IL 60664 | |
