Since Mary and Michael Slaterly are found buried in St. Michael's cemetery, it would seem that they were Catholic.  Have you written or vistited St. Michael's for information regarding Julia?

I went through those buried in St. Michaels, picking out the name Julia and Juliet.  Then I went to other sources to try to figure out who these woman may have been.  Census records would prove or disprove a birthdate of 1841 (give or take a couple) and marriage records could show the maiden name if it was a first marriage.

I could not hit on anyone who would match Julia's information.

PS- Ususally searches of Catholic Church records will cost you a bit.

I'm wondering if you have found Michael and Mary in 1860?  Could Julia be in Iowa?

Sorry, I see where records were destroyed when a shed burned so that any records from the cemetery itself are unavailable prior to 1912.

Some people claim that there are up to 3 layers of burials in the cemetery.  But Church records might be available.

Melody, Thanks for the work .  Michael & Mary Slattery are in Galena, Illinois by 1860. the name is spelled differently (Slatterly  & Statery) & I think they are living in Rose, Jo Davies Co., Ill. Now Michael's father Patrick Slattery is across the Miss. River in Jackson Co., Iowa & the name is spelled Slattery.  Julia is probally married & I don't know to who & that is why we can't find her.  Thanks for the help...Nan

Melody,  I beleive some one has just found Julia Pound; she became a nun They found her in the 1880 Fed Census in Mo. & she is the Mother Superior of the convent.  Everything fits from the name, age, birthplace.  But you were right to assume Catholic. Thanks.......Nancy
