My grt Aunt who happened to end up to also be my step grt grandmother ,,isn`t that a hoot.
Laura Davis my grt aunt, married in july 1881 in Bond co.IL to Harvey Nuttal Baldwin,, wel they had a son Henry Harvey Baldwin in 1882,,,then was a widower(first wife Alta Wagner)well then in may 22,1946 he married my dad`s widowed mother(Samuel Hendricks Davis)Nora Ellen Crozier,Davis.
I have looked for Laura and Harvey`s marriage and even census with them.Nothing. I know they were in Crawford co.IL in 1882 because that is where Henry grew up and married the first wife and thier son Darius Harvey Baldwin b.1919.died in 1982 still lived there too) and lived there with my gramma Nora.and still lived there when he died.
I have checked and rechecked and wrote IRAD and Crawford co.IL but nothing. I dont even know when or where or what of that Laura and Harvey died or buried, etc. I know his fam were from Ind. his mother (Nuttal)and father.

Have you checked land records on the illinois state archives site?  Sometimes there is an easier trail to follow there.  Donna

According to the WW1 Draft Registration, Henry Harvey Baldwin, registered in Crawford County, IL  on September 12, 1918.

He was born April 11, 1892 and gave his nearest relative as Etta May/Ella May Baldwin, wife.  Their address was RR#5 Robinson, IL.  It appears that he worked at a Baker's shop, in Robinson.  Hard to read, may be something else.

He was described as medium build and medium height with blue eyes and grey hair.  He was slightly deaf.

I believe Henry can be found in 1900 Lawrence County.  A Henry Baldwin b. April 1882 is working as a servant (farm hand) for the Orville Carrithers family.

There is a Harvey Baldwin found in 1900 LaSalle, IL  He was born June 1854, and shown as a servant (farm labor).  He was also widowed.  Although I am not positve that this is the correct Harvey, I think it is.  But I am certain the Henry in Lawrence Co., is the son.

Harvey N. and Maggie Baldwin are in Lawrenceville, Lawrence Co. IL in 1930.  Being 72 years old, he would have been born about 1858.  The couple has a divorced niece living with them.  This is Alta Ferris (I think age 30).
