Hi you all- I just joined this site recently.  Here is my very large brick way- it seems I can't even knock down one row of the brickes.
My greatgreat grandparents were John Jones and Christine (nee not known)
They had Elizabeth Jones who married Lester James Kliver.  I have the death certificate for Elizabeth but it only gives the first name of her mother, Christine(a),
I sent away for the marriage lic. for Lester and Elizabeth from Cook County.
I found the death info of Christine(a) on the Illinois data base.  I know they are from Germany- I know that Christine(a) died in Park Ridge, Illinois- I do not know where she is buried.  I know that John and Christine had 3 daughters Elizabeth, Clara and Bessie.  Thats about it I would like to find out more about the Jones' but what a common name -  Elizabeth was born on July 28, 1879.  Christine died on March 5, 1926.  Any help would be appreciated- help me tear down this wall

BTW- if anyone needs help in the Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois- just ask-

Shelly

A Christine M. Jones,  70 years old, is living with Claram M and Albert Lanasen.  They had been married just 3 years.  Clara was 28 years old and born in Illinois.  Bother her parents were born in Germany.  They were in the 28th ward.

It was a result of a Clara Lauesen search.

In that 1910 census, Christine Jones said she had given birth 11 times with 6 children living.  Immigration was in 1873.

Since Albert C. and Clara M Lauesen were living in Maine Township and owned their home in 1930.  Maybe they are buried in Maine Township:

Notice that in 1930, they had a ward living with them, a 14 year old girl.  Do you know anything about her?

Since Christine was shown as Johns in two census records, and she had other children besides the three you mentioned,  you may want to check out others by the same surnames (Jones and Johns) living in the same wards or districts.

I found a John Jones, born in Germany who registered to vote in Cook County in 1888.   He was living on what looks to be Strand, between 89th and 90th Streets.  He had been a resident of the state for 5 years, however.

Melody,

I only knew of the 3 girls- I don't remember my mom ever talking about any boys, who would have been her great uncles.  I have a diamond ring that Aunt Bessie gave my mom when she was 17.  The daughter that is listed as Mildred is my grandmother whos name was really Mina.
I think you are right that if I can find Christina's death cert- it will list the her maiden name.  I would love to find out John Jones correct name, I don't really think John or Jones was his Germany name- The child that is a foster or ward is an interesting story.  According to my mom, who is no longer with us, they were in some bar in Chicago and some woman walked in looking for a couple to take her baby so they did- now the question is did this really happen? or is there a hidden secret that the family was embarrassed about- would love to find out.

I'll keep looking any searching- thanks for all of your help

Shelly
