Here is a challenge for someone.

John Ridgway died in Illinois in 1852.  He was buried in the Ridgeway cemetery on the Wm. Riddle farm, Route 17, Sparland, Illinois.  I believe this is a private cemetery as I can't find it listed in any cemetery lists.

I tried to pinpoint that location with a section, township and range with no luck.  It is very likely that one of his wifes might have been buried next to him.  Ann McGee Ridgway Purcell Crotz.

Since I live over 1500 miles away, it is very difficult to follow up on this.
Could one of you dear Illinois residents help me out?   I would be indebted to you for all of my life.  Thank You...

What would be really neat is if someone could get permission to inventory who is in the cemetery if it still exists.  I realize that it may have been plowed under over the years.  I certainly hope not.

George Ridgeway

George - Do you know what county Sparland is in?

Yes, I can do better than that.  Here is the county and the approximate location.  Marshall county, Steuben township.  John Ridgway's property was NW quarter of section 26, twnship 12N and range 9E.  I would guess that the Ridgeway cemetery is on this property but I don't know that for sure.

Thanks Margaret... Only this cemetery is in Alabama and my relations are buried in Illinois.
