I have an ancestor that is buried in Pope Co. IL near Galconda IL. I was wondering if some one could go to the Hogg cemetery and send me a pic of his tombstone? Francis Hogg [sr] b:09 Feb 1780 d: 27 May1849 and perhaps one of his wife [I have no idea where she is buried. Aquilla Story b: abt 1788 d:10 Aug 1871 Thank you Kathy |

Kathy, According to the Pope Co. cemetery book vol.2 there are 8 sandstones and one commercial stone in that cemetery. The one stone states: Hogg, Francis M., wife and family. The cemetery was enumerated in 1988. I'm assuming that the commercial stone which stated the above, was to tell who the sandstones are. It is in Township 12 south, Range 7 East, Section 3 which would be somewhere around Eddyville. Did you get all of the PC death registers from Judy? If not email me and I'll send them to you in Adobe. I also have most of the PC books and will be happy to do any lookups for you. Susan aka IKK MOM |

Kathy, I found a picture of Hogg Cemetery online. Go to findagrave.com click on find a cemetery. When that page loads up in the paragraph before the enter the name of the cemetery, there is a link for county, click that, then do Illinois in the pull down menu on the new page, then Pope County. Scroll until you find Hogg. On the far right are the number of listings that are online, and just to the left of that is a link to any pictures. From the picture the cemetery is very rural, as if Pope County isn't rural, LOL. Findagrave.com can be an excellent source. I found severel generations of Les's family there including pictures of their tombstones. Susan |

Yes, Frances Marion "France" Hogg is my relative. His wife's name is Aquilla. Are any other first names listed? |
