Hi;

I found records for a number of Aquilla Hildreth's but couldn't find birth or death records for either of your folks. I did find them in the 1850 census and there are a number of family trees on Ancestry.com, all of which contain pretty much the same data. Here's what I transcribed. Cheers Wayne

Hi Again;

I did a lot of searching and it looks as though people have mixed up the data on the various Aquilla Hildreth's pretty well.

However I did find a Rootsweb page which appears to be the most authoritative and best researched of anything out there. Its got a lot of detailed data, i.e., that they're both buried in the LaHarpe Cemetery in Hancock Co., IL. The url and a relevant extract follow:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilclark/bartlett.htm
The Bartlett Book
Elizabeth S. Bartlett
b. 17 Nov. 1805, Nicholas co, KY,
d. 25 May 1866, LaHarpe IL;
m. 4 March 1822, KY,
Aquilla Hildreth,
b. 27 Feb. 1792 KY,
d. 27 Jan. 1864.
The Hildreths moved to Illinois 1833-1835; they are in the 1850 Census of Hancock co IL, LaHarpe twp, p 428b, and are buried in LaHarpe cem.

Also, the LaHarpe Historical & Genealogical Society
(url: www.outfitters.com/illinois/hancock/laharpe/lhgs/)
is offering copies of the LaHarpe Cemetery Burial Records Book (thru Sept 1986) for $12.00 a pop, as well as a lot of other good genealogical stuff--might be worth the investment to you.

Alternatively, you can go to the Hancock Co. look-up service and ask for a look-up on both names. "Patsy" has a copy of the Laharpe Cemetery Burial Records Book. The url is www.rootsweb.com/~ilhancoc/Hancock_lookup.html

The cemetery appears to be an old one and may have been located in the n.e. quadrant of LaHarpe as there is a "Cematary Road" located there.

Cheers n' Good Luck, Wayne
