I am thinking that I am going to have to use dial up. Earthlink says dsl may be available where I am moving. I don't want my phoneline tied up though. Does anyone use dial up and have their phoneline freed up? I used callwave before but did not like it. Thanks again. Carla Sorry for asking again but wanted to let you know that I might not be able to use dsl. I am new to this so bare with me.

Carla - I saw a gadget at WalMart today that will let you use your computer and phone at the same time with only 1 phone line, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called.  It was only about $9 or $10 though.  might be worth looking into, though, since that would be a lot less expensive than another phone line (just in case you can't get DSL).  Any electronics store should carry them.

It works in conjunction with call waiting from the phone co. So it is the cost of the device, the dial up cost, and the monthly cost of call waiting. DSL might break even, provide faster speed, and no busys.

I am using dial up and have downloaded callwave to use for now. DSL is not available in my area in the country. Verizon is going to get lines changed and then have DSL available. I have to get used to this dial up after using cable. Thanks for the info. Carla
