I am experiencing problems in getting 192.168.0.1 to come up so that I can program my actiontec modem. Each time I try to bring it up, I get

ERROR 400 or BAD SYNTAX. can't seem to remove this apparent error.

 

I am using a program named ECHOLINK which is a Amateur (Ham) Radio Program - Using the computer as a radio station. It did work for me at one time, but since the new actiontec model GT701-R was installed, It doesn't seem to work. Program comes up, but unable to converse both ways with the internet. I have tried two different modems with same problem - maybe it's the computer and not the modem???

 

I am trying to get or confirm that I have protocol UDP 5198 & 5199 as well as TCP 5200 on the modem.

 

I have tried several "browsers"and numerous search engines to locate and fix the problem to no avail.

 

I hve spent several  hours with Qwest, whom  I rent the modem from and they could not help me. I called the manufacturer of the modem, and they too claim that they could not help me - thought that it was a SECURITY or FIREWALL problem. I went as far as to turn off all the firewalls, but it still wouldn't work.  THIS IS REALLY A BIG BRICK WALL FOR ME. I am calling upon those high skilled computer experts/programmers  for youir assistance - May I have an encouraging word from out ther? - Jim
