In this book by Virgil D. White, page 806, I find my gt gt grandfather, Aaron Gibbs. abd wife Mary Clark. (This was on line) It says:WC-1777 (what is this?)
n or m (I hope this means married) 20 Feb 1812, Phelps, New York, sd (?? what does this mean,sd, said died??)18 Nov 1846 Lyons, NY. wd 31 Jan 1885 Falls Creek, Illinois, srv Capt Swan`s Co NY Mil, wid lived Wayne CtyNY and Adams Cty Il.
This is about the only information I have found anywhere about them. I have sent for a Pension of which i am most anxious to see. I hope it doesn`t take the 30-120 days to get here like they say it will.

I am wondering if Aaron Swain Gibbs was supposed to be Aaron Swan Gibbs, often children were named after an admired officer. Guess you would never find out. From the information I sent you, I assume your questions were answered. |
