I have the URLs for the following:- US Census Index Illinois Statewide Marriage Index Illinois Death Certificate Index Can anybody tell me the URL for Illinois Birth Certificate Index (assuming there is one) please? Since you're from the U.K., Would you be able to research records in your country? My ancestor THOMAS HOWERTON was born there in about 1640 He had a brother named JOHN HOWERTON Thomas came to America before 1663 indentured to a GEORGE MOTT JOHN came across from the port of BRISTOL ENGLAND embarking in 1663 to Maryland Anyway if you can help me I'd be much obliged Thank you in advance Melvin Leo Howerton |

As far as I'm aware, there is no Illinois birth index. |

I now live in the sticks so my sources are rather limited. However I'll see what I can do. It would help if you knew which county Thomas Howerton was born in? But anyway don't hold your breath! |

I've had a look at RootsSurname list ( http://rsl.rootsweb.com) where there are several Howertons listed. Also looked at Ancestry.com ( http://search.ancestry.com) - this site gave 91 matches for Thomas Howerton. I assume you have looked at the Mormon website where there are one or two Thomas Howertons at about the right time, - one who emigrated to Virginia. Without more information I can't do more.
