just found out we need to be moving here. So where is the group going to.  My maiden name is Shattuck, and my eldest sister Nancy passed on January 29th.  I think the information is already in the family website.  My question is a simple one that my sister Jill and I didn't know before, if you cremate they list the crematory instead of the cemetary, is that true for every where or just Mo.?

Hi Margaret, It is Margaret, right?

First, let me tell you how sorry I am to hear of the loss of your daughter.  You sound very strong regarding her death.

Are you talking about Death Certificates or obituaries?   I don't have Daddy's D.C. but I do have his obituary.  He died in Decatur, Illinois.  His obituary says, "Inurnment will be in Arlington National Cemetery."

If you are talking about Death Certificates, many say "Removal To," and that would mean the body was removed to a Crematory.  Some say "burial" and that would probably be the cemetery.  Maybe there are now different forms for each.

This link shows the procedures, not sure if it will answer your question.  I did not read it all.

This link shows a form for American Heritage Cremation Society.  The form shows a space for where the cremated remains were returned.  It is actually the information on the Cremation Death Certificate:

This particular form was to be submitted in Florida.

Sorry for the mistake.  You lost your sister, not your daughter.  Either way, it's never easy.
