How about a "Search this site" option? It would be most helpful for those of us doing several searches for different families. Searching for several families takes a lot of time...and I just think that it would be nice to be able to search the entire site at once for a certain surname. Just a suggestion...Thanks for taking the time to ask and listen. Criss
We used to have search this site before. I dont know why it's gone for some reason. I think it was MSN that did that. You're right it would be easier to find the family surnames. I think that there is a list of members that have surnames or what we could do is have an alphabetical order of surnames and somehow incorporate it with the members and their email address.
If you'll look on the What' s New page you'll find a Search This Site link right above the Managers' welcome message. This feature has been here for some time although it hasn't been indexed for ages (shame on me!).
As for the Member Search option, that one was removed a long time ago. If you want to find a certain member, you may be able to do it from the Member Tools on the What's New page. I'll check it out to be sure.
There are 2 pages of surnames in alpha order (click here for the first page). This also needs to be updated, but I gave up on it. Instead of only listing names on the Surnames board, which was to be used for that purpose, far too many were posting too much information that belongs elsewhere and too many replies were made causing long threads that I did not have the time to search to pick out the surnames for posting on the list. That's the reason that board is being deleted. Clear as mud?
Criss ....and Chris - I went to a group that I am a member of but not a manager to see if I could search the Member List .... and I could! So click on Member List in the Member Tools box on the What's New page, type in a member's nickname and cliick "Go". It will take you to the page that member is listed on and you can view his/her profile. You can also click on the name of someone who posted a message and get his/her profile.
