STEPS TO WRITING A SPELL
1. Decide exactly what you want to create a spell for, considering the implications of the Law of Three and tenet of Harm None.
2. Research the correspondences needed for the spell, usually about three - for example, a candle colour, an incense of herbs and a stone. 3. Write the words for your spell. Keep it simple, you don't need fancy ritual or ceremony, what matters is your intent and that you really connect with what you are casting the spell for. Rhyming words are more widely used, perhaps because the rhythm and flow somehow seems more inkeeping with the rhythms of the Universe, the power of which you are trying to harness. A rhyming dictionary can help you with this if you are unused to it, alternatively you don't have to use rhyme if you'd rather say the words spontaneously. Be VERY specific in what you ask for, no ambiguity, and include a time span if there is a dead line for the working - as a a general rule, spells to bring something into your life are performed while the moon is waxing (growing)and spells to remove something during the waning (diminishing) moon. A full moon is when magick is at its peak. In our example below, the spell is therefore performed on the new moon, with a request for it to be completed by the full moon.
4. Close the spell, either within your rhyme, or by simply saying "So mote it be".
