A Basic Meditation
by Gypsy Jaguar © 2003-2004 You may want some soothing, instrumental music on to help you relax....& you could also light some incense that is good for meditation, if desired....like sage, myrrh, or frankincense
Sit or lie in a comfortable position
...
where there will be no distractions or interruptions.
Protect yourself with Light...
envision a ball of white, pure, loving Light in the center of your being envelop your spiritual body...your guides will see that it is dispersed where it needs to be.
Relax all of the muscles in your body...
one by one tighten & then release them until your whole body is relaxed from your feet up to the top of your head.
Tune out
any noises you hear by acknowledging them & letting them fade into the background...Do the same with the thoughts that bombard you at the end of the day...acknowledge them & let them fade away.
The answers to these questions will present themselves more clearly in your meditation, or dreams when you get to a place of the quiet mind.
Focus on some deep, slow, relaxing breaths
from your belly, not your chest.
Breathe in pure loving white light & positivity for a count of 1-2-3-4...
Hold -2-3-4...
blow all of your negative feelings & emotions, and any stress you are feeling out through your mouth with force...1-2-3-4
repeat several times until you feel a sense of complete relaxation.
Create a place, a feeling, or focus on a photo that makes you feel at peace, safe & snug...YOUR paradise........anything that makes you feel safe, calm, & at peace. Imagine something that is your own that has nothing to do with anyone else..
Just YOU
Envision yourself entering this place or being enveloped in this feeling like you are entering a dream.
Observe
Just sit back & watch what happens...nothing is wrong...it is yours to do with what you wish. In this place or feeling you have created, you may sit & watch, run around, dance, take a walk, investigate, talk or interact with animals or other beings you may meet, whatever you are drawn to do.
Then this is the point where you can work on special exercises.
If something interrupts you.....don't get mad...just gently lead yourself back to where you last were. Try to stay relaxed
The more you do this....eventually you will be able to do it more easily & stay in a meditative state for longer periods, visions will start to come to you, & you will be able to communicate with your guides and self more clearly.
When you are ready to come back out of your meditation, slowly open your eyes, let the sounds around you begin to float back into your awareness, and stretch out your body becoming aware of your physical body and senses. Wrap your arms around your body, giving yourself a big hug. This helps close you off as well as rewarding yourself for a job well done!
Remember to thank your guides & send them love & light when you are finished.
