Raven Grimassi 1951- Raven Grimassi was born in 1951 to an Italian immagrant who came to the USA and was descended from a Neopolitan witch named Calenda Tavani. At 18 he began to study the Old Religion, then in 1969 Raven discovered Wicca and was intrigued by the similarities between it and the Italian Craft. He was initiated by a High Priestess called Lady Heather, who practiced the Gardnerian/Alexandrian Wicca called Algard. He also studied under Lady Sara Cunningham for the traditional "year and a day", in 1974. Raven is an expert on Italian Witchcraft ( Streghera ) and on the works of Charles Godfrey Leyland. He is also the directing elder of the Arician Tradition and has been a teacher of witchcraft for over thirty years. His former students include Authors Scott Cunningham and Donald Michael Kraig. Raven returned to the sole practice of Italian Witchcraft in 1979. He is also the author of many books on Wicca and Witchcraft.  |
