Stone Magick     Since ancient times stones have been used for healing, spellcasting and divination, as they are said to contain mystical energy vibrations. Stones can be worn as talismanic rings or pendants, carried in charm bags, placed on altars and added to potions, candles and incense mixtures in a powdered down form. Stones can also be used to make healing tonics, outline magic circles and add power to tools of ritual.   Cleansing      It is important before use that the stone is cleansed or cleared before use, this removes negative vibrations from the stone. The most popular methods for cleansing are; soaking in salt or sea water for a minimum of 24 hours, holding them under a cold running tap for one minute, placing them in direct sunlight from mid morning untill mid afternoon, burying them in the ground for at least seven days, covering them with sea salt for one to seven days, smudging with incense or dried herbs and visualizing a white or golden light surrounding them. These are all a matter of your personal choice, just go with what you feel.      After your stone has been cleansed, hold it in your receptive hand, the left if you are right handed and vice versa. The stone should feel that the energies are right for working with, if not it may need more cleansing. If the stone is used for healing work then it should be cleaned before and after each and every use.   Charging      To Charge a stone, on the first night of the Full Moon place the stone in your power hand, this is the hand that you normally write with. Visualize your need and will your energy to flow from your hand into the stone.
