Now that the dark cold days of winter are behind us and we can again believe that it's possible to be outdoors, I was wondering about the possibility of breaking from the normal tradition of locking ourselves in some dark pub or wine bar during these reunion things.

Instead, I wondered if it would be interesting to set something up during a daytime, for alumni of all years, at some place like Thorpe Park, Chessington, Alton Towers et all (perhaps even SomerWest World - that's "Butlins, Minehead" to most of us oldies).

I'm sure we could get some sort of block booking discount (maybe even on the back of corporate hospitality somehow if we all chipped in).

Come to think of it, if a good cross-section from the various QS years turned up, we'd pretty much over-run whatever venue we decided on.

I dunno - what you all reckon? Maybe the nice meal that me and Mrs Bri had this evening, and the beers afterwards have made my brain soft..

Bri

PS Laurie - Accepted Quantock policy ensures that the first 3 bottoms perched on the storage take priority ....

Mike, if you have photos of senior members bottoms, I am sure this is a harmless and rewarding hobby, and but how come you haven't posted them on this site?

I think that camping on site would be a good option. It would ease the pressure on Mrs.P and probably go some way to persuading her that 2003 will not be so bad after all.

All we need now is someone to get the ball rolling!!!.

Nick.

Having just spent a wonderful afternoon cruising the kennet and avon with Laurie and his family, we were reminded that we had not had an update on Justys' phone chat with Mrs P regarding this summer.

Any news would be appreciated as time is running out.

Nick.

nb. Thanks for a great day out Laurie.

Dear Nick,
Good luck with the haggis hurling in Scotland, I'm off on my boat "Clarrie" for three weeks, starting Friday 2nd August and on Sunday 4th should be going up the Cairn hill flight Devizes (the boating equivilent of climbing Mt. Everest).
I will be at Quantock Saturday 24th, Matron has replaced all the fuses in the storage heaters that Kevin had nicked, hope to see other Quantockians there.
Laurie

Has a date been confirmed for the main reunion in 2003 yet?

Mike,

Spent Saturday 24th at Quantock with Laurie, Shelly and Brian. Laurie and I spoke to Mrs P regarding 2003 reunion, she said that Justin Cooper did speak about it, but has lost contact. Mrs P said that she can accomodate a maximum of 70 persons / bodies and it would have to be August bank holiday weekend. If this is to go ahead, the sooner it could be sorted with Mrs P, the better.

 Regards

 Kevin
