Confidence at Midnight

To find the power of ONE you must first know what it is.  A conscious understanding of what connects one to every other one is a start.  Universal energy is the beginning and the end of connection.  Everything comes from this.  RD might say it comes from nothing and the void, but I haven’t figured out nothing and the void completely yet so this is my take.  Universal energy is love and love is what connects us all.  Sometimes we feel it, and most often we don’t…we being those of us who are learning, who are newly awakened, who are not experienced in the ways of the world. (See I’m covering all my bases, not offending nobody).

So where does that leave us? How do we find this elusive universal energy of love?  The bond of a child / parent /spouse is one way.  The love you feel for your family and friends is part and parcel of the universal energy of love.  Nature is another way.  Everything in nature comes from this natural love.  You can see it if you take the time.  Take a flower for instance, a rose, it is beautiful in its own right, but then look around it, see how the dirt is there to hold it up, how the worms are in the garden to help it grow, how the bees come to feed from it to create more life.  This is just one example.  I'm sure you can think of many more.

In our spiritual lives we come into contact with this energy in lots of ways; in meditation, in prayer, in the use of our gifts and our love for our fellow man/woman.  When you get used to knowing this feeling, sometimes you take it for granted if you're not careful.  This energy deserves the utmost respect and should never be taken for granted.  It is your connection to spirit, to god, to love, to humanity, to nature.  When you take it for granted YOU are the one who loses…and will continue to lose until you find it again.

On a lost dark night, a few nights ago…I forgot what connection was all about.  A friend I was talking to online made me, yes MADE ME, stop crying, stop feeling self-pity…and made me promise to go outside.  He knew that if I could find the connection, I would once again find myself, because in truth, I am one with the connection.  He asked me to go outside and lie down in my yard…it was about 1AM.  I said ...it was too cold…lol.  He said, good, all the better.  So I promised and I did.  I put a coat on and took a blanket outside and laid down in my yard.  Then I laughed…lol…it was cloudy.  I didn’t understand what possible reason I was there for anyhow and then to find it cloudy...made even less sense.  All of a sudden, the moon shone thru the clouds.  It was a full moon and its light shone directly on my face.  The clouds shifted and moved so quickly…I would from time to time catch just a glimpse of a few stars, then they would be gone, but the moonlight shone from behind the clouds, illuminating them and making the sky seem both huge and far away AND so close to earth and to me.  I just breathed deeply and allowed myself to feel everything I was feeling.  This was the ultimate connection for me.

I became one with the universe in the most profound way with only my own naked truth and the moonlight.  I know now, that I am one with the universe, with the universal energy, with universal love.
