The Magician card, sometime called The Magnus, is a visual intrepretation of the phrase, "As Above, So Below."

 

 

 

We are all Magicians, some better than others, all possessing potential to learn.  The Magick One brings Force into Form and refers to the light, approach to life, personal power and eternal knowledge of Spirit which are drawn through the Magician’s body and expressed in the physical world.  The Magician reflects who they are by the state of their mind, body, and spirit, which is seen or felt by many. 

 

Kellog Bluff reflects this in his teachings and his personal statement simplified as, "It is what I do."

Perspective. Everything in life is perspective. You are on a path, hopefully, to enlightenment. Now back to the slinky. If you think of a slinky with one end connected to the table and the other to the roof. (Note: the roof and table are not part of this.) Ok so you have the slinky let the metal ring be your path. It starts at birth and ends…well it ends when it does.   Now let the center area of the slinky be life not your life just life. So you have your path and life. As you travel on your path life doesn’t change only your perspective on it does. So the idea is life is constant that nothing you can do will change that. But since how life affects you is based on how you see it. All you have to do is strive to change your perspective. Which is what a path of enlightenment has shown me.

 

When comparing life’s path to a slinky, one can come up with many perspectives of how to interpret that metaphor.  The way I see it is that we not only have perspective but control of our slinky and how we choose to use it. A slinky is best known as a continuous motion of rings that move at a pace that eventually comes to a stop with all rings meshed together.  Now I cannot compare my path to that as a whole cause I believe the rings are formed as one grows and the path never actually ends.  The path to enlightenment is found through knowledge and learning.  Some "slinkys" do not have has many rings as other "slinkys" do... But that doesn’t make any one "slinky" better then the next.  One can have as much perspective as they want, BUT unless they ACT on it, the rings will not be formed.  Free will is a wonderful thing.  To stay in a "safety zone" only makes for a shorty slinky.  So whether a slinky with 2 rings or one with 50... it's all a path and we control it :)
