I love baking and decorating holiday cookies. I didn't do it this year, but I have done it in years past.

Some of my favorite things are being snowed in with a warm drink, a fire and carols playing.

Does anyone go caroling? I have only gone once, but I loved it. It was great fun.

I always thought it'd be neat to be snowed as long as I still had food & water.

I have done Christmas Caroling a few times in past years. I like it.

One tradition which I do in my household is...I like to donate to a charity in my relatives names. I think it is a useful and gratifying gift to give. For some time now I have donated to Christian Charities in Memory of my Grandparents and in Honor of my parents.

I like to do more of the home decorating than doing baking. I do the Christmas Trees and floral arrangements and I set up two little Christmas Villages in my home. I go each time at the Holidays to the Cemetery and make pine and floral arrangements for all the gravesites in our family. Sometimes it is an urn arrangement and sometimes a wreath I have done that is on a stand. I do ones for other people if they request them as well.
I've been in the hospital 4 times in the past at the Christmas Holidays, and I am thankful for every year that I am not there. It is a sad time to be hospitalized. I always think about the kids and adults who are there at Christmas and their families.

Thanks, LV...I am always glad not to be in a hospital. It is only good if you are in real need of it or are working there.

Thanks, Susan. I think donating in any small way is a good thing to begin with children. Perhaps some change in the Salvation Army kettle or they could pack a shoebox for Samaritan's Purse, or even buy a t-shirt from Gap to benefit the Red Campaign.

Another great idea would be to have your kids color pictures or make a craft and take it to a local nursing home or psychiatric home. The patients at those facilities would love a short visit and some "art" to hang on their walls.  The staff at those facilities would be happy to allow a visitor in with some Holiday Cheer. They would know the patients who would be good for a youngster to visit with.
