A note about Email Settings:

Please do not email management asking us to stop all of the posts coming to your inbox.

Management does not have the capability to change the email settings you choose upon joining groups.

When you join a group, there are different options of how you want to receive emails from the group. If you set yours to "Instantly receives group messages," then you will receive every single message posted in your inbox. That is not a recommended setting for this group since there are a lot of posts per day.

There is no rule about posts being sent to your inbox, but if you have that setting and want to change it, here are some instructions:

How to change your email settings:

1. Click on Member Tools.
2. Click, "Check your email settings."
3. Scroll to where it says "Messages."
4. Click "on the web."
5. Click on "Save Changes."

 About Bandwidth...

Do not copy and paste graphics or photos from elsewhere unless you have permission.

When you copy a graphic from a website what you are actually copying is the HTML code that calls it from the server location the site has it stored on. As a result, everytime someone opens the page/message thread that you paste it in, it calls the graphic from the website's server. That is bandwidth theft if you do not have permission.

Think of bandwidth as electricity. If the graphic you copied and pasted was 50 KB, then everytime someone opens the page/message thread, that draws 50 KB of the site's bandwidth. If 100 people open it each day, that's 5000 KB of bandwidth used each day.. If the site pays for their bandwidth or is limited, it can be costly to them to have people using it without their permission.

Managers of MSN groups have no claim of bandwidth theft because they have no vested interest in it. They do not pay for it, nor are they limited.

Hotlinking is also called Bandwidth Theft:

This happens by copying & pasting an image into a post  (i.e. A Google Image)... To avoid this... right click on the image and save it to your computer, add it to an album and post it that way...  The link is broken that way.

It is very easy for those sites from which bandwidth has been "stolen" from to follow the trail to our group and to subsequently report us to MSN. It's also very easy for us (JennMullen, LV, Blkjak, Pine Siskin, U2Luv, U2*Freak) to see which photos have been copied and pasted rather than uploaded properly.

Any posts containing hotlinked photos will be deleted and reposted as text only.

In summary, please avoid putting hotlinked photos and graphics into our group as MSN will shutter (delete) groups without warning for violating this. When you are going to use a graphic or photo in a post, please make sure it is from photo albums or something you have personally uploaded from your computer.

Thank you,
