 just a thought about software, freebies that is, I noticed that Family tree maker is a 14 day free trial then you can purchase if you wish.

 

Legacy, which I have used for a number of years, is completely free and downloadable, the standard version 6 that is, there is no trial period attached and if you like the software and would like the extra's that are available, you can then purchaes Version 6 Delux, which is also downloadable.

After entering a valid e-mail addy you have two options, the quick install or the full install, the larger file, if you select this,  can then be copied to a cd or zip file and then loaded on to other computers that don't have internet access.
