Norma Gwendoline Myers
nee Spratt
17th August 1925 - 25th November 2007.
My dear Norma, sister-in-law, mentor, and dearest friend.
We said our Good-byes almost 2 weeks ago,
But you lingered for just a few more glimpses of your lovely family.
When I was just 16, and a very naive 16 at that,
I met a family, which to me seemed huge,
(remember I was brought up as an only child).
I was suddenly thrown into a den of lions as it were,
Seven children, with their partners, and their children.
You were 12 years older, and so much wiser than me,
with 4 young ones of your own,
yet you took me under your wing,
and a few years later when I married your darling youngest brother,
I never have worked out why you always called him 'Johnny'
when his name was Syd!!
your eldest baby daughter was my flower girl.
That was 50 years ago now.
Norma, you have been my inspiration for 53 years,
I hope I can re-pay you by continually being there for your children,
grand-children, great grandchildren, and the littlest of them all
your great, great, great grandson.
God Bless you, Norma, and I am sure I have just heard a tinkling of
laughter coming on that last gust of blustery wind.
You and your Johnny, (my Syd) sharing together once again.
I miss you, and life won't be the same.
with Love,
Denise
