Hi All,

How does one archive emails? I am using Thunderbird.

Looks like I have to reload xp which will format the hard drive.

Thunderbird is the Mozilla email program. Mozilla also produces the Firefox web browser. It appears that Thunderbird does not have automatic email archiving - but I found this web site which may be of help to you.

Hi Ron,

The way I Archive emails - that is (for those not sure why we need to) - store emails away out of my box but still have them searchable and accessible if I need to refer to them, I use gmail also known as Google mail, it works in Mozilla or Internet Explorer.

The mail comes into my Inbox, which has a massive capacity. I can archive any I want to keep just in case I need them later, or totally delete them if I wish. It also keeps a copy of all my sent mail, in another folder, and automatically saves drafts until they are sent.

It does mean that I need to use an email address that reads [email protected], but I have 2 other email addresses on auto forward to my gmail address. Oh yes, and if a friend is logged into their gmail it is possible to chat without leaving the mail page.

I think the best way to find out if you like it is try it if its not what you want then delete it.

Gmail send to members invitations for joining, my current allocation is 50 if you would like to have one. It saves searching and gets you quickly there.

Just let me know and if anyone else would like to try it, let me know also.
