From: Kayemac5 Hi,
My name is Kaye and I have been researching my family history for nearly 10 years. I have traced all my first generations into AUSTRALIA but not all their shipping details. I have next to no information on the families before that. And of course there are many, many, many gaps in my AUSTRALIAN History. Births not Registered, Marriages not happening? Who am I to judge! My main interest is MCMILLAN, my Maiden name.
Originally from SCOTLAND, 2nd great grandfather Robert James settled in DEAN near CRESWICK VIC c. 1860 and had a large family. His wife was Elizabeth FITZPATRICK from IRELAND. My Great grandfather another Robert eventually travelled down to BUNYIP and there are lots of McMILLAN'S still in that area. McKENZIE, STANDEN, GUTHRIE and BAXTER are some of my great grandparents names in the McMILLAN line . My mother’s maiden name was FITZGERALD, grandfather Richard married Mable MILLIGAN in VIC 1927. Their families were in BUNYIP and WONTHAGGI.
Grandmother May leads me to the MANNIX & HARBOURD family's and they are great fun to research with lots of skeletons in their cupboards. The MANNIX & HARBOURD'S were in MELBOURNE c 1860+ I'd love to make contact with family members with the view to exchanging information. I have set up a web page outlining my family interests as there isn't enough time in the day to list them all here. If some of the names above look like they belong to you why not visit http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kayemac/ and check?
I am a member of the Clan MACMILLAN Society of AUSTRALIA and my local Family History Group in Mid GIPPSLAND VICTORIA
