Hello to you all,
I am not very important in the big scheme of things, I guess, but never-the-less here goes.

The most important thing I have ever done is to raise my 4 children to adult hood, and I am now the proud Grandma of 2 grandsons and 3 grandaughters.
Eldest is 22 yrs and the youngest only 10 yrs.  Also step-grandmother to 5 more and step great grandmother to 1.

The most important thing I am doing now is caring for my wonderful daughter and son, both disabled.
Krissy, severely and Ric moderately.  Boy, do we have some moments!
Chasing those elusive skeletons keeps me sane, and as I follow my family back into history, I realize my life is very easy in comparision.
My family stems from, so far, Anglo Saxon roots, England Scotland, and Wales, but my late husband, and therefore my children, have Irish and German thrown into the mix.

Now thanks to skut, I have not only Australia but also New Zealand to research.

Hello lkea,

I'm Bindi aka (bjbambi1977), I just read your post and was sad to read that you think that you are not important in the big scheme of things.
I have had a low self esteem for many years and thought I wasn't important until I started my family tree research; this is our way of contributing to the future generations.
Some say its morbid, walking around Cemeteries etc, but even my 10 year old daughter loves finding our rellies at the cemetery.
If I can help in any way, with lookups or just a chat, please don't hesitate to contact me.
I have put my list of resources on this group for lookups.
I can understand what its like to deal with children with disabilities, my daughter has autism.
From Bindi

Hi "bjbambi",
It is great to hear your daughter loves the strolls around the cemeteries.
I have always loved it and that is where you will find your local history too.
"Lkea80131" is very special lady with a heart of gold.
Like you "bjbambi", I have always suffered with low self esteem, depression and anxiety but have been very good during my life of putting on a different "front" for people.
I am certainly not saying other folks and not kind and caring but have found throughout my life that many who suffer with these conditions are "doers", helpers and carers.
I cared for my invalid Mother for 10 years until the powers that be told me I was no longer able to care for her and she had to be admitted to a high level nursing home.
If she was still able to walk, even just a little. I would have her back home in a heartbeat!
You also must have some very tough times with your daughter suffering with autism too.
