Hi Guys, A little bit about myself. My name is Kirsty Dent, I am a 30 year old single women. My friends keep telling me that I belong back in the 1800's. My family moved up from Melbourne when I was little and now live in Brisbane. My mothers family is in Melbourne while my fathers is in Sydney. My one and only sister lives in LA with her husband and my two nieces. I started researching my family after getting interested in copying the old family photo's and then wanting to know a bit more about the people. All my lines have been in Australia since at least 1840's and I am trying to find them all before moving my search's overseas. I can be a bit blond at times so I hope you can all bear with me and I am will to help out where I can. Kirsty |

Hello Kirsty, I have 3 blonde children so I understand blonde, so no worries, remember, my motto is there is no such thing as a dumb or silly question, not matter what anyone else thinks.. I am at the moment trying to teach one of my neighbors how to use the computer, she is .... well she is just a wee bit over 70, it's slow going but we are getting there. I saw a photo of her the other day taken many years ago, guess what , lovely blonde hair!! Remember after you copy the photos to your computer copy them to disks include perhaps an Excell page list of the photo number and who it is and when taken, make 2 copies of each disk give one to someone else to put away for safe keeping, I call it the AllBran principle, if youve got it you wont need it. From: Topcat | Hi Kirsty, Hope you're well integrated into the Group now. I've just joined and am finding my way around. I used to be blonde until it all fell out a few years ago but my daughter is blonde and she managed a 2:2 at University so not all blondes are dumb! We all have our strengths and weaknesses it's just a question of finding out who might know what you don't and picking their brains. I bet there's plenty you know that others don't. Hope to hear from you sometime. "Topcat" | |

Hi "Topcat", In AUSTRALIA the term of being blonde whether you are or not means you are dumb / stupid, I instantly fail as I am blonde. Our "Kirsty3808" is far from dumb or stupid, she is one very clever hard working lady. I have known "Kirsty3808" for a long time and she was one of our first members way back when we started this group on July 1st this year - yes, we haven't even had our first birthday yet! Hi Guys, Welcome to this group Topcat. It is full of very helpful people, you will love it. I was only joking with the blonde comment. My Mum is blonde and I am sometimes bottle blond! Depends what day of the week it is and how I feel! At the moment I am blond brown and red! Not punk just highlights through the hair. :-) As I race through a lot of things I tend to do stupid things because I do before I speak or act. :-) A lot of the time I end up then having egg of my face hahahaha Thanks Enforcer that gave me an ego boost for the day! The way my life is going at the moment the first birthday will come around in no time! I am still here checking in. I am still working 6 days a week and get very easily side tracked when I am on the computer. :-) oh well! Last week I was carefully watching the fires in Running Springs LA. My sister lives there and my parent where over visiting! Perfect timing. They got evacuated and a week later have found out that their house is still standing but are very lucky as a lot of people around them lost homes. (My sister has always been lucky!) Fingers crossed I can get more work down on the great information Enforcer has sent me with the massive Whitbourne family! Thanks Kirsty |
